Wow. A mind-blowing trip of a film, worthy of repeat viewings. Great ending. I loved their short last year... this one was even better.

Duffle Kerfuffle

This film was well-made and pretty funny. Only issue was the story had a good setup but ultimately felt a little undercooked by the end. I still enjoyed it though 😊

Screw The Pooch

Loved this one. Firstly, had probably the best performances in the heat. Cool concept, generated a lot of tension in a short time, and paid it off sufficiently at the end. Well done :-)

This was my favourite of the heat. Brilliant set-up for a slasher movie with a twist, well-acted, darkly funny, gore well done. Straight banger, well done.

Hibernation

Excellent film, loved the ending. Funny, a LITTLE bit cute, a lot whacky (in the best way). Good stuff.

Very conflicted on this one. I have to give it points for being so funny and pretty well structured/acted (I dare say it would have been amazing if you guys had a bigger budget) , but at times I felt like its' main goal was to offend as many people as possible.

Down Slayment

Nice disturbing short, well-acted and the violence was very well done. I especially appreciated the quips at the end, from both the main girls and the neighbour, rounded it off very nicely. Well done :-)

Quirky and creative short. When the transformation happened we were all cracking up! Well done :-)

Really loved this one. Great concept, perfect for the format, and very well executed! Well done.

Building Expectations

Really great comic energy and a hilarious central performance. Only issue is it was a tad repetitive. I would have liked to have seen more conflict for the central character.

Glass 88

This film was really good, particularly from a production point of view. Funny, clever, and weirdly relevant with its' themes. Also liked the ironically melodramatic performances. Would have been better if it were just a touch more musical... but it was definitely musical enough to get high marks. Well done :)

Hellbent on Fishing

Liked this one a lot. Really out there, unpredictable and well made. The world creation for Hell was awesome too. Well done 😊

Breaking Bread

Some very funny and clever moments, but there wasn't a clear story to follow. Story with man on road was darkly funny, but it felt a bit random and not strong enough to carry the film.

Voting Season

I really liked this one. Definitely the best and most polished effort I've scene from a school team(?) in the competition. I liked the dark humour, and the fact that the main protagonist was so passionate about her goal that I was routing for her, despite her actually being a nasty character with a nasty goal. I thought the acting was on point as well and the deaths were well executed. Good use of the recurring line as well. I did feel the ending was a little predictable for me, but very well-executed nonetheless. Nice work.

Gags had a hit:miss ratio of 80:20. Agree that the rapid shift of tone made it feel a bit uneven, but definite points for bringing heart to it. My second favourite.

FEARBNB

Cool short. Nice twist, didn't see that coming. Probably best use of the match cut in the heat, and the fight scene/gore was very well done :-)

Friends Who Pretend

Really appreciated the concept, the funny/creepy tone and just the glorious weirdness in general for this one.

Only tiny quibble was the recording of the bear's voice being a little too different to all the other characters, but other than that I loved it :-)

This was a strong heat, and I think it finished really strong with this one. A cool concept, and very well executed. I really liked the relationship between the robber and the security guard, and how unpredictable it was. Well done :-)
