Mentally Eel

Very nice. This 48 film reminds me of 2011. The Doco craze was huge. But alas. Kind of a breathe of fresh air watching this. Well done.

Dear Householder

What a very avant garde film. Very creative stuff. Quality was as if recorded with a cellphone but all is forgiven. Conceptually a very clever film. I dug it.

Ace of Spades

I felt that this film had the best actor in it. The British dude really expressed himself with his dark character. Really nice touch. The lighting however was really overexposed. I also remember the editing was very good, however the story was pretty meh. Good attempt tho Britain ;)

Crystal Pawn

I really liked the crystal ball concept. Looked really professional in parts. That actor dude with the glasses cracked me up. You guys got my 2nd vote in the heats.

Tender

That old man is a fantastic actor. I don’t know how you two didn’t crack up and ruin the takes feeding him the egg and humming that song at the end. This shit had me in tears. Audio could be better but this team I shalt look forward to in thy future competitions. Chur

Higher Connections

Those bags of skunk look suspiciously…. convincingly real…. lol. Great film. Your lead actor looks and remind me of Alfie Allen. Te Moana. nui a Toi produce some heavy hitters. Well done guys.

And Then The Light Came In

The winner of the second heat. From what I remember the atmosphere in the film was really well done. The dark gritty colors were visually compelling and it did create a sense of suspense and had some people on the edge of their seats. The film was visually spectacular but some editing and sound issues really let it down. It might have been deliberate but I felt that in parts it came across as amatuerish.... (I know that's not a word) The sound levels (quite noticeably when the girl screams) made my ears ring near the end. Strong contender for the top prize but it's anyones game from here....

Paradise Lost

I dug this.

Film had atmosphere. Good lighting. Pretty decent actors too. Personally my favourite from Gisborne.

Well done team.

The Long Neck Job

Kia ora Kratos.

Firstly I have not seen your film as of yet, but given our history, I already know that you guys can “Bring it”

I am extremely proud and happy that you guys are finally being recognised as the “Gods of Hori Chaos” in film and that you have finally elevated to the taumata of the Grand Finals.

Know Jol that I will be watching the GF this Saturday in support of yous and it would bring a tear to my eye (No bullshit) if you guys managed to take the main title.

Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou.

Ngati Porou mo ake tonu atu.

E.T.R.

Lol. You guys managed to get Harold the giraffe himself, Beau. I like this film already.

This film falls into the modern style…. Like full of memes, quick shots and goofy humour, along with gore. I like the moko kauae chick, but she was a bit over the top….. Kei te pai tho. It’s a smashing film for Gizzy but I feel like I’ve seen this film before in the past.

Congrats on toppling Kratos’ Five year WWE Regional Champion. Quite a feat I must say. You guys should be extremely proud. I haven’t seen their film yet but it took them 12 years to make it to the Grand Finals. Maybe you guys could do it in a fraction?

Keep entering, you are also a new team that has made the Tairawhiti Region film quality pumping in recent years.

Chur.

Loose End

Just saw this on the GF livestream. Damn, such a cool concept. Might actually place 2nd or 3rd. Good stuff.

The Con

So much asses this year in our city. Kratos also did a nude shower scene. Disappointed this was DQ'd. Humor was good, acting was good. What's up with all the masty scenes? lol

The Empath

I expect no less from the imaginative minds that are Jordan, Jake, Daniel, Jade and the rest of their group. Good luck at the finals.

Found Well

Pretty good quality in parts. Kudos to your lead actor. Did his job like a champ. Bit slow in parts but a commendable film indeed.

What Remains

Ah man. The first person shots and scenery made this film look very artsy. Very nicely done. Adding like a filter over your film would have made your film look vibrant or gritty. Would have made your shots pop more.

SuperHero Musical

Film: Superhero Musical Genre: Musical Team: Team Indeed Automatically I'm going to give my own film 5 stars but it proved to be very popular with the audience that saw it in Heat 2. I had fun making this and rushed it all in 12 hours. Blame Final Fantasy 7 for taking up all my time lol. I did everything myself because my fellow team mates (my nieces) were more interested in watching Dora The Explorer then helping me lol. I duno if it will win but I'm sure it will be in the top 4 films :)

The Reality of Love

What the hell? Those are some of the best scenery I’ve seen in a 48 in a while. Your lighting and visual are some of the best and cleanest I’ve seen in quite some time. You guys did extremely well. You oughta be proud.

CHICKEN

Ka pai guys. I didn’t expect the win but here we are. Mad props to yous. First time Kirikiriroa has won the main prize? Or in a while at least lol. I must admit that as soon as you guys transitioned to the farm scene like….. omg, that scene is GORGEOUS!!!!! Finland is beautiful, and some Ngai Tahu films were pretty, but I had no idea that Tainui was so pretty… too… lol. And I’ve lived here for a while.

Nga mihi nui ki nga toa mo te whakataetae Kiriata, 48 haora, o te tau 2024.

Android and Friend

Just saw this in the Screening Room. I thought this film was very clever. I enjoyed the humor, the cheesiness and terrible quality only added to it's hilarity. The sound was god awful, but I didn't mind. I lol'ed when the human shoved the card up his ass. lol. I must also ask, did the girl on the bike really get to see his junk? LOL Anyway dudes rock on, hope you win your regionals hahaha

Whai utu

Won't be surprised if this wins the Gisborne Finals. Good cinematography, good effects. Good effort guys.

Graffitical

I mean....... this film looked pretty. Clean sound too.

Probably win a few Gizzy awards.

NAPIER does indeed look pretty. Nice hipster dream zone out film. I dig it.

Well done to this team.

Kaiti Vice II

Oh ka pai. I remember this team. Got some The Office and Its always Sunny vibes going on with your film style. Unique stuff. Gotta admit that I sort of zoned out near the minute and a half point. But I do commend the quality of your camera shots. This team and the Gizzy winners this year seem like they are a part of the same genre and team…..

Roll Over

Gotta admit. The quality in Gizzy is getting way better, specially with these young school teams. Well done. This film looked pretty pro. Keep on entering. Got some skills ya'll. :)

Crazy For Vic

The name of this film was "You're Obsessed" From what I remember it was really creepy when that dude had the collection of images in his possession. I liked the red filter/gel that was used to represent the dark room. Nice touch.

Crazy For Vic

Probably the strongest contender for the top prize. Good editing, good acting. Story was average but compared to everything else it was one of the only films that had a plot that I could follow hahaha.

The Inheritance

Gizzy veterans Cowps with another pretty sexy looking film. Your lead actor does a pretty good job. The older farmer dude also exudes mana. Ka pai Ben ma.

Lullabye

Rapey.... nuff said,,,,,

Shine A Little Light On Me

Neat little daydreaming fantasy. A janitor has a rock concert in his own world. Clean shots and sound. I liked this film a lot.

No Filter

I figured out my login. So I’ll copy paste what I said on youtube. “Your guys quality is stunning and the audio is like butter. I’ve seen a few of your films over the last few comps and teams like yours keep the Tairawhiti region on top of their game.”

Deep

Probably the most ambitious film I've seen in such a long time.

So much visuals with your miniature model town you built. Lighting is fantastic and your water effects actually look convincing. Dystopian underwater Auckland in the future? Ok,

I'm sure you rocked Peter Jackson's socks off and feel that you will definitively either be a PJ wild card or a National Finalist.

My pick to win this years 48.

Crystal Pawn

I really liked the crystal ball concept. Looked really professional in parts. That actor dude with the glasses cracked me up. You guys got my 2nd vote in the heats.

Stella And Blarg At Large

Very nice little animation. Nice breath of fresh air after watching hours of meat flesh…. I mean human actors. :p

Gutted

Loved this film. Did make me feel uneasy. Good shit. lol

Run with me

A very young looking team. Your film actually has a lot of character. The filters give your film a dark vibe. The girl with red in her hair does a brilliant job and busts her butt acting her heart out. Good job team.

Cataphora

lol. This was so random. Bit of everything in here. Really clean looking shots. Sound was good. Well done. Probably win the music award in Gizzy. Might even runner up Gizzy.

Good luck.

Stage Four Law

Bloody hell. Such a random yet sweet and funny film. That actor dude is a reasoned vet in this comp now and he delivered once again. GG

Late

It's a pity this team was late. The acting was good, the cinematography was spot on, editing and music were also one of the strongest of the round. The main character did a good job of convincing the audience of his madness. Colors were also really rich in texture, quite pleasing to the eye. Good job guys, better luck next year :)

Thermal Warning

Sup Mr Norman. I didn’t know this was your 48 team. Nice clean looking flick yo. I now have to go back and watch your other films.
