Get a Grip

by Flat Out Films

It's a counselling session

Reviews

At their 1 year anniversary of staying sober from a heinous activity, suspicions get raised by a counsellor when his script to keep his students on the straight and narrow gets pre-emptively interrupted time and again. This was a well paced film that had some absolute comedy gold.

A little bit lo-fi I felt, as the cluttered flat didn't exactly stand out from the crowd, but it still suited the manic nature of the men on screen and their addiction that straddled the line of good taste for the better (huge laughs in the screening by the end)

It's quite impressive what sobriety can do, rebuilding fractured and family relationships, but whilst a pisstake it was a reminder of just how damaging addiction can be. Wild energy, ballsacks, slaps and garfield mugs to the fore, a bit more technical polish would have pushed this from good to great.

Story: 3/5
Technical: 2/5
Elements: 2.5/5
Overall: 3/5
