How to Register

You will need to fill in the Registration Form here. Registrations open on March 18th for the next shoot weekend 17th - 19th May, 2024.

Registration fee

Registration Fees:

Earlybird registration:  $199 per team
Full registration: $260 per team

School Teams: 2 for 1 entry

Tertiary teams: Half price

Payment is by credit card only.

If you are under 18 and are wanting to register a team you must have a guardian around and they must also register as team leader for legal reasons.

You don't have to know all the details of who is on your team when you sign up, you will have the opportunity to edit any details (except your team name) in the wrap-up form over the shoot weekend.

School teams

If you are a school team you must click the checkbox marked 'school team' in the registration form. Schools teams are entitled to the 'two for one' deal. When you pay for one team, your confirmation email will contain a code for another free school team. Please register teams with a different email address.

When you enter as a school team, the online wrap-up form needs to have release forms signed by a parent/guardian.

Please note that a school team must be registered through an approved Ministry of Education School or in the homeschool network.

The registration form will need to be read and completed online by a parent/guardian over the age of 18. Payment is by credit card only.

Please note that school teams are eligible for the 'Best School' award, but films should be student-led with key creative roles filled by school students. Adults can be involved as cast and in an advisory role.

Tertiary teams

Students enrolled in a tertiary institution can get half price entry. The team leader and the core creative team (writer/producer/director) must be currently enrolled as students at a  Ministry of Education registered / approved New Zealand tertiary institution. You will need to get in touch with us, with copies of your valid student ids and we will provide a 50% discount code for you to enter into the registration form when you register. Please note that we will need at least two working days (excluding weekends) to get this to you, so please don't leave it til the last minute.

Tertiary registrations are not transferable and you will need to make sure the team you apply with matches the team you work with on the shoot weekend and on the online wrap-up form.

Regions and out of town teams

Teams must register to compete in the closest region to them. Your film will play in the heats of this centre, be eligible for that city final and that city manager will be your point of contact.
