Celebrating Our Community Love Teams

Thanks to STUDIOCANAL Community Love, ten incredible charities and community groups are joining the Vista Foundation 48Hours filmmaking whānau. They bring new voices, fresh perspectives and stories shaped by communities from across Aotearoa to the competition.

Wildaval Productions - Tauranga

Among the 2026 Community Love teams is Tauranga based Wildaval Productions, a sustainably-minded film production company that provides affordable and accessible filmmaking workshops where young people across the Waikato develop practical skills, tell their own stories and experience taking a film from script to screen.

Teapot Valley Christian Camp (multiple teams) - Nelson

Nelson’s Teapot Valley Christian Camp joins the competition with multiple teams as a registered charity that creates safe, fun opportunities for young people to disconnect from the online world, build meaningful friendships, overcome challenges and grow in heart, mind, body and soul through camping activities.

Questionable Research Labs (multiple teams) - Whangārei

Questionable Research Labs is back with two teams! They are a 100% volunteer-run charitable trust based in Whangārei that gives rangatahi of all backgrounds a welcoming space to explore science, design, technology and filmmaking, with previous Vista Foundation 48Hours experiences inspiring several participants to pursue careers in film and media. 

Inclusive Performance Academy - Christchurch

Back again are Ōtautahi/Christchurch’s Inclusive Performance Academy, empowering disabled students to develop their talents across screen acting, music, movement, dance and devised performance, with their films reaching the Christchurch Regional Finals for two years running.

Black Creatives Aotearoa - Auckland

Black Creatives Aotearoa of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland brings together Black creatives of African, Afro-diasporic and Black-identifying communities across Aotearoa to develop film, television and digital storytelling. Through workshops, networking opportunities and industry partnerships, they aim to strengthen pathways into Aotearoa's screen sector.

Ūkaipō Whangarei - Whangārei 

Another team representing Whangārei is Ūkaipō Whangārei, supporting Māori, Rainbow and other rangatahi across Te Tai Tokerau by providing safe, welcoming spaces, nutritious kai and wānanga that strengthen wellbeing, connection and suicide prevention amid poverty, homelessness and whānau trauma.

Nayland College - Nelson

Nayland College is joining the competition as a college situated in Whakatū/Nelson. They nurture independent, confident and adaptable young people, giving its student teams the opportunity to bring their creativity, collaboration and storytelling skills to the Vista Foundation 48Hours.

To provide 10 free entries to the Vista Foundation 48Hours for charities and community groups, specifically those supporting under-resourced youth.

1. Who is eligible?

  • Registered Charities.

  • Community Organizations.

  • Priority focus: Groups working with rangatahi (young people) who face financial or resource barriers.

2. How to Apply

You don’t need to fill out a long form. Simply send an email to Ashley during the registration period with the following details:

  • Introduction: A brief overview of your organization and the community you serve.

  • The Impact: A short explanation of how a free entry will empower your storytellers or help your group overcome cost barriers.

3. Key Submission Details

  • When: Apply any time while team registration is open.

  • Where: Send your expression of interest directly to Ashley.

  • Limit: There are 10 free entries available in total.
