Only Dunedin has had its heats - I'd have thought the audience favourites would be up by now, but it's possible they're holding them for announcement at the final.

In terms of other centres: Wellington, Hamilton, and Christchurch screen this week; Gisborne the week after; Auckland the week after THAT; BOP and Taranaki go straight to finals.

Cheers Andrew,

I knew there had only been a few but was surprised the ones that had didn't have the awards up yet. I guess the later screenings than previous years has me twisted :) So used to it being a crazy week right after the shoot weekend finishes before a long delay to finals announcements.

Haha, I'm feeling this so much because Taranaki only has a final, and like, a late final on June 11! Last year our heats were in the first couple of days of the week right after the hand in. So that's why I'm hanging out on the forums, trying to fill the void while I wait to see our films!

I don't think we get an audience favorite since we only have a final, which is a bit of a bummer. They could get everyone to vote then and there after the films have screened, have an intermission before the awards (like they usually do I think), and finish tallying it up while the other awards are announced... Just slot it in before best film and runner up.

I feel like that would level the playing field with giant teams a bit since there would be more of the public there too and people have to pay for extra tickets :P

We have an online voting system using your phone now that does live tallying so there's no reason this can't be done... in fact I'm pretty sure it will be done since I set Taranaki up in the voting system, though it's of course up to them if they want to announce on the night or after the fact.
