Grand Finalists stats

This is what I've been doing while I should've been working. Clearly, my obsessive 48HOURS nerdiness has returned now that I'm not running the show...

Of 18 grand finalists (3.2% of all films submitted):

7 Auckland teams
7 Wellington teams (incl one entering from London)
3 Christchurch teams (incl one entering from Montreal)
1 Dunedin team (entering from Invercargill)

3 each: Fish out of Water, High School, Splatstick, Techno Thriller
2 each: Monster, Wish
1 each: Anti-Romcom, Back from the Dead
0 each: Star-Crossed, Time Travel, Heist, Last Day, 10 Years, or Musical+ (!)

8 Ultra teams
3 Solo/Duo teams (all three of which are also Ultra)
3 Out-of-Town teams (I think)
2 Animation teams (both of which are also Ultra, Solo/Duo, AND Out-of-Town)

93 regional nominations between the grand finalists (average 5.2)
21 regional awards won between 12 of the grand finalists
14 finalists placed in their heats' audience voting
9 finalists placed in their regions (8 of which also placed in their audience vote, and 7 of which won regional awards)

3 national Best Script nominees
3 national Best Performer nominees
2 national Best Director nominees
2 national Best Editing nominees
0 national Best Cinematography nominees (!)

4.2 average reviews site rating (out of 5)

100% chance of having a great time at the grand finals
$20 ticket price, do it

How many scope films? I think there's 2 from wellington although the moffits might be too. H34 with the vertical cinema/shot on phone entry!

Will be intrigued as to whether they play the scope films anamorphic to fill the Civic like they did the embassy :)

Also interested in average runtime for films in the final. I know Wellington has been about 4min10-4min15ish each of the last 2 years :)
