Blood Love

by Rattlesnake Productions

Half-vampire Mallory is looking for love. And dinner.

Reviews

Terrific performance by the lead actress playing Mallory, a half-vampire who is determined not to see men as meat. This blood-soaked tale of gothic longing threw many ideas at the screen, creating a mis en scene of love and lust, with a nice level of desaturation to the colour timing, selling the classical mood.

From teeth filing, to invsibility cream through to commentary on dating apps via netflix and kills this ran the gamut, but with a nicely paced edit that allowed the characters to develop and breathe. My only minor quibbles were that I personally felt the sound was a tad up and down at times, and I'm not quite sure the ending was as tight as it could have been, although the final shot was fantastic.

Oh and really good use of the heartbeat too, especially given it was story-relevant! Also whilst I'm not usually a fan of narration in 48 Hours, it was well done here.

Story: 3.5/5

Overall: 3.5/5
