Strange wee film, the dude reminded me of a mate of mine. Very original though and well executed. The ending didn't sit right with me though, don't know why, maybe it needed more. Some of the shots were a bit weird, composition was a bit off.

Nice simple short, the two "perspectives" playing off each other was a cool concept. Some great comedy writing also, the witty repartee between the male lead and his dashing offsider was a highlight.

All in all I loved this short. Witty and clever, engaging with interesting characters and story. If only it wasn't so obvious it would of been in my top 3.

love the editing idea between the two realities.

I voted this best of the night! very original with great dialogue, suffered from being shown early in such a strong heat perhaps?

Can't hide my prejudice - any 48 Hours film that starts off with "A Film By" credit immediately puts a very, very bad taste in my mouth. That said, these guys mostly won it back with the clever structural conceit - it doesn't necessarily bear up to scrutiny, but on a first watch it worked well enough - and the wit that went along with it, with some of the sharpest dialogue writing of the night.

A cool idea done pretty well! Jokes all hit hard with the audience, and it was generally well put together technically bar some odd edits. The climax resolved itself a bit fast in the final scene, but generally it was well paced, and the fun visual idea carried it quite a long way past its jokes too.

Fallback has said this, but I have to say it again, because I think it's important. Film-making is always a collaborative effort, but triply so in a 48hours environment. Not only did this film start with a full screen "A Film by..." credit, but it also ended with a full-screen "Directed by..." credit at the end, AND a THIRD "Directed by..." credit at the top of the roller! I found this REALLY pretentious and off-putting. The film was pretty average, in almost every way. Story, technicals, acting - all were 'fine' which I think was the death of itself. It's always better to be dreadful and funny or truly great, in my opinion, and this film was lost in it's own level of 'ok'. Nothing about it was obviously terrible, but nothing was really that great about it either. Personally I wasn't engaged in the story at all.

So this film switched between a black & white period style, and a modern colour setting. Which was cool, except I wasn't sure why! Some fantastically delivered dry jokes (I've wanted to call someone 'old bean' in a movie for so long...) and the color-switching wasn't at all distracting. Nice little twist as to who the target of the protagonist's affections was, and a freeze-frame in keeping with the style of the film. Good work guys - a solid film.

Interesting concept but not so well developed, I loved the one liners though and old-schooly lingo!
