A Teenage Tittsy

Another film which didn't find it's genre, the main action was between the protagonist and his bully rather than the protagonist and his love interest. The story and performances were firmly tongue in cheek, but a lot of the comedy fell flat because of this. Re-edit, and this is not the best place to do it but the forums don't link to the reviews directly, but I should've said that you guys gave it a fair shot! Didn't mean to be hard on the film, in 2005 I participated for the first time in 48 hours and made a film I would give 0.5-1 star to today. Take the better reviews and keep on making films!

PAYBACK

Payback fell a little flat like Kitchen Crusader thanks to a decent setup being followed by a sit down conversation that had little momentum. The superheros didn't engage with their arch-nemesis at all, and it turned out the arch-nemesis wasn't an enemy anyway, removing any conflict from the situation. Mostly I think this film got stuck between very low stakes and not taking the parody far enough into the absurd. Tough genre!

urban etikit

I have been told I cannot review my film by my teammates but if I did I would've given it four stars (I was an actor). I can say however that I enjoyed myself immensely this year :D Re-edit, I'm biased, I'm giving it four stars. At least everyone knows my bias -.-

mind fuck the prequel

I had no idea what was going on in this body-switch film, and couldn't follow the two different narratives. However, it looked like these guys had fun, and I encourage them to keep it up and come back next year with as much enthusiasm as they approached their effort this year.

Last Stand

Last Stand did pretty well with their two songs, the second being particularly funny thanks in part to what I thought was an honest attempt at a singing, dancing, fight scene. The narrative arc was a simple reversal but it played nicely thanks to the effort the team put in to it. I could be wrong here as my more technical friend pointed out, but one thing I'd recommend for Shattersplint (and a couple of other teams from this heat) to check out is how to de-interlace your films, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinterlacing. The horizontal lines you saw while characters move or the camera pans are a result of interlacing, and while you cut the resolution of your image through de-interlacing the end result looks much better for it.
