Pretty classic 48 hours stuff. Tightly scripted and edited so good to watch. Especially loved the kittens! It might have been improved by showing us how the cheese roll competition was such a big deal to these guys - it was implicit but there could have been more of a history there. But I guess some stuff has to be cut in 48 hours!

Competent stuff, well thought through. Well, mostly. There were so many plot holes in this flawed gem, it was like they needed an extra sieve in their Cheese Roll kitchen: Just why was the recipie so closely guarded? Was theirs so bad that they had to steal someone elses? If theirs was so bad, lets see the disaster! How did they find out who had it, and just why was the guardian of the 'secret' such a dweeb? Why was the place bugged by the cops?! Cheese Roll kitchens are not P labs! And while in getting worked up and hungry; Just who was the Angry-Looking Girl in the red dress and leather jacket, Ma Baker? (Pardon the pun.) While it was the best use of the prop all night! and the audio was good, (very good), there are too many nagging questions in the way. A highlight of the night, a story I actually liked and one I could follow, but oh! those plot holes! Chances are we will see them at City Finals though. I overheard one of the judges saying they thought it was great! Cool. I can see this new team getting together over a few brewskis and rolling up a new story for next year.

This was a nice-looking, largely entertaining film, but the story needed some polishing. While it was enjoyable, a lack of definition of the characters, and of their motivations distracted from the story. The victim of the carefully planned heist was the most developed character, but even most of the traits he was assigned fell by the wayside in order to throw a spanner in the works of the thieves, with no real explanation. The planning scenes were nicely constructed, but a lack of explanation about the contest (why it was important to them, why they needed this particular recipe, etc.) detracted from the general experience. All in all, a fun, visually polished film, even if the story was a little rough around the edges. Rock on, guys!

A very good technical film, with clear audio and an impressive soundtrack that contributed to the overall feel of the film. There was no real background given as to why this cheese roll recipe was so important though, and the story in general seemed a bit lacking. Seemingly important aspects early in the film got thrown away later on with little explanation, letting down what could have been a much better short. I realise there's only seven minutes to make your mark, so a lengthy introduction isn't possible, but something a bit extra would have been appreciated.

All in all, I enjoyed this one. Most of the characters were well-established in their own mannerisms, but I still felt some background was lacking both in characterisation and narrative. Still, this one made me laugh and the freeze-frame ending was used well!
