Lovely shot musical, much in the style of "Once". Great acting and singing perfomances from the cast. I thought the story could have been a little more clearly told, as the motives of the bully/ex bully character were hard to discern and I was confused over whether she was being nice or nasty. And perhaps a little tightening in the edit would have improved the flow. Overall a gem however and a real shame it wasn't in the running as I would have loved to voted for it.

A woman runs a radio programme out of a room in her house, promoting the work of anyone who sends in a demo tape of music. One such demo tape belongs to a bike riding performer, Ollie, who the DJ develops a thing for without ever having met him. the DJ's flatmate, Bobbie, tired of her friends lack of urgency in the romance department pays Ollie a visit and invites him over. They sing a song about the DJ and when she returns home romance blossoms. Very nicely filmed and edited. Sweet audio. A cool time-lapse sequence and in general a sweet story that gives a bit of a nod to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. For my tastes this was a little slow to be an effective musical. It seemed to be more of an opportunity to showcase/promote the musical ability of the lead rather than, the music driving the story. And I suppose, why not? He's bloody good! Essentially it seemed that there was only one song, that become a duet on it's second run through. Not sure why Bobbie really joined in - expressing her concerns about the DJ's lack of assertiveness? Nice singing though, Steph! I had thought that when Bobbie went to the guys house she was going to seduce him - but alas, no. Shame it was disqualified as it was pretty well received.

What a shame this film was disqualified as it was one of the best of the night, some real talent with this group, good luck next year.

This is a lovely short. I didn't follow the story with the same detail as some of the other reviewers. However i enjoyed the song and the singing as well as Melancholy feel of the film. On your youtube page, the comment was made that this was finished in 53 hours and ended up disqualified. Personally I would prefer to see a slightly unfinished film that made it as a contender, than to see all the effort underutilized by not allowing the film to compete in the competition. The team still had the ability to produce a polished product for their own use - post competition. 8/10 - would have rated higher if it was still in the competition. very nice film - thank you.
