Well done guys :) Bit of a cliche plot but what else can you do with ROM COM? it was sweet :) and well presented, good luck in the comp.

I found this movie difficult to fap to, but in the end, I managed. This movie reminded me of the movie "Bubble boy".

I thought that this was a pretty well put-together short, albeit in a style that doesn't particularly appeal to me. The basic story idea of an agoraphobic falling in love with the girl next door was simple and easily understandable, if a bit trite. The acting was solid, though any line-readings outside of voice-over were avoided. It wasn't trying to be laugh-out-loud funny, but there were some nice moments through the film. The voice-over approach to exposition was a bit lazy, and I'm sure that they could have found a better solution but, hey, it's 48hours. The technical elements were solid, though some shots are definitely sharper than others and it is a bit inconsistent visually as a result. The only things that bugged me was the music-video style approach to telling the story, an editing style that I don't particularly respond to and undermined parts of the film for me, and a somewhat shaky grasp on One-room, where the camera leaves the room at least twice to show the love-interest moving around outside the room, undermining the basic principles of setting a film in one room. To be clear, showing him watching from the window would have been fine and that was fine for most of the film, but to set up a shot of her walking to watch him before cutting to her Point of View is definitely questionable. Overall it was pretty good and a lot better than my entry but, then again, few entries were as bad as mine. Based on Lincolns Year 13's, my previous choice for Best Teen Team, having 18-year-olds in it, this will probably win in that category.

This was a touching film. Nice take on the one-room genre, using the fear of outdoors to explain it. I'm not sure about the shots from outside though... are they allowed? Difficult genre anyway. The acting was great for Rom-Com, awkward and cheesy, and the freeze-frame ending fitted well. Loved the humour from the post-it note bits, and the clinical narration explaining what Eliot's problems were. The wire being used for making models and then for anxiety was really effective. Great job guys :D

This One-room/Rom-com short tells the story of a guy afflicted by agoraphobia. He receives counselling support via PC? (although it seemed to be a cd player!). He has a thing for the girl next door and it seems she also has a thing for him, but she has a boyfriend already. Will he overcome his fears, leave the room and get the girl or will he pussy out and hope that she comes to him? In general this was nicely shot. Cool training montage also but the overall pace of the film got a little bit slow and repetitive. Also, as already covered we leave the room a couple of times and see things from the girl's persepective and thus we lose the tension of being confined to the one space. It was fortunate too that they don't lock doors in this neighbourhood. A strong contender for the Teen Team gong unless you've got any 18 year olds - then you'll have to battle it out with the School Teams. BURNING QUESTION: How did he get braces?

I liked this film. Who was he talking to in his voiceover??? That part confused me, but still loved the actors and story was funny. The romance and comedy were definately seperate but still...IT ROCKED!!!

Overall I enjoyed this film. I felt the main character did an awesome job and had the appropriate presence on screen. Being a bloke, I shouldn’t mention that a small lump was growing in my throat as it was sweet. I felt the shots could have been tightened and the story seems to be familiar in that the result or outcome is typical; I think if a twist was applied then the potential would have been greater. I did really enjoyed, very clever, well done guys

Congratulations on this quite moving, yet humorous film. The lead actor was well cast and evoked sympathy as he lived his life in the 'room'. Techniques used were very effective eg the reflection in the mirror as he watched the girl from his bedroom and made connections with her from his safe place. Hopefully it will get recognition for the skills displayed both in the content, the filming and the editing.

[Watched this at the Christchurch Finals] This film remeinded me of "Rear Window" Starring James Stewart. A nice solid entry here, good production qualities, but what they nailed here was the whole feeling and vibe of the thing, and the acting. I can honestly say I really felt sorry for the guy when the girls "date" showed up, the pretty girl did a comedable job as the love interest, and the lead was very good in his forlorn yet hopeful state. It was abit cheesy and predictable, but a minor point that can be worked on next year im sure! Haha the eating well bit was awesome! And the exercises bit was really well done, the energy and shock value really helps kick the story off. Really nice when the music comes in with the girl, made it feel like ok this really is a film not just some guys having fun on the weekend. The mani actor here was really good, convincing and not over the top. I liked the situation he was in, it seemed really real, watching the girl he liked wit another boy (who hasn't had that feeling). Nice wee happy ending, good music (although a tad loud at parts) all in all a well rounded production.. you guys have a lot of talent and looking forward to your entry next year! One piece of constructive critisim, with a film like this that relies on a simple story and not much diologue, it really would have been great to see a better set (for instance really sticking to one theme with the setting, and that theme being origional instead of 2011 NZ. You could have done New Zealand in the 60's or 70's or something), apart from that well dnoe!.
