I do think the approach to found footage here was very unique and I think there was a great tension through the film. My one qualm is the ending which I think pushed the envelope maybe a little too far. Bold and daring filmmaking all the same though! :)
You know what? This is one of the best horror films in 48 Hours I've seen in many a year, and I genuinely mean that in the nicest possible way. Just the cadence of manipulation and abuse was startling and skin crawlingly difficult to watch in terms of subject matter.
The little moments of banging on the door, gaslighting, staring, reframing, it's all here and felt oh so real.
Clever use of genre. Perfect fly on the wall use of the medium and you made your protagonist likeable and someone we wanted to escape or defuse the situation, whilst the antagonist put up one hell of a performance.
The ending was VERY very dark. One of the darkest I've seen in the comp and maybe took away from the chilling on edge aspects of the leadup ever so slightly? But that's just me.
Raw and impressionable. Good work team.
