You'd Make A Good Tree

I really loved the concept for this film and could see a whole feature born out of this 48. Brilliant prosthetics work, phenomenal cinematography, ominous sound design and a stellar score add such a slick feel to this film!

My one thought while watching would’ve been to show a little less of what the environmentalists are doing till the end so the horror and rebellion of their actions could hit even harder and be more of a shock. That’s just me being nit picky though.

Terrific job tima I can’t wait to see this on the big screen at Regionals!

Ashes to Ashes

Definitely enjoyed this but did feel like a little more build up for the punchline would've added even more weight to the finale. Definitely still got a giggle out of me though :) well done team!

City of Angles

So much fun and real out of the box production design. This was easily the most creative use of film noir I’ve seen so far in the competition!

The Boy Who Slipped

Ace film!! Really great job with this team and as a former PBS kid felt proud to see my hometown's still bursting with ingenious creativity! Made me laugh a lot.

Bad Trip

Great work on this one team. Really interesting approach using a single room to tell a house party story and very brave as well. Definitely think more black vomit would've been great! Well done on the mirror shot as well!!

Defiance

Really beautiful cinematography and terrific performances from your cast really give this such an immersive and foreboding atmosphere.

It would’ve been cool to know even just a little more about their mission and why they were wanting to carry out the attack but totally get for this story that maybe wasn’t as important as the tension of being in the thick of their decision being made in real time.

Can’t wait for how epic this fees at The Embassy at Regionals!

Baby Girl

Really enjoyed the cinematography and production design in this one and the original track is really well made. Did feel the ending was a little rushed but overall a stunning achievement in 48hrs!

Tapped

Felt a little slow at the beginning but found its feet in the third act which was hilariously over the top. Would've benefitted with some louder dialogue as some did get a little lost which I think contributed to some confusion in the beginning. Overall made me laugh out loud so well done all involved!

The Apparishioners

Definitely one of the strongest interpretations of what a comedy horror is which seemed to hinder a lot of other 48s this year.

Absolutely adored the performances and great to see the fantastic chemistry between Jordan and Kimre! Would’ve loved even more crazy debunking antics while they’re at the haunted site, but totally get 5 minutes is not that much time to squeeze in everything!

Division of Assets

I do think the approach to found footage here was very unique and I think there was a great tension through the film. My one qualm is the ending which I think pushed the envelope maybe a little too far. Bold and daring filmmaking all the same though! :)

Absolutely stunning film and such a unique visual aesthetic that really helps the film hold its own amongst a stacked animation line up. My one bit of feedback would be don’t be afraid to utilise sound more as it would add an even more immersive element to the world of the cloud cats.

Can’t wait to watch again on the big screen at the Regional Final!

Unbelievable animation here!! Couldn’t believe what I was seeing on screen and so heartbreaking at the end!

Mother of all Heists

Absolutely adore this film! One of the only 48s this year that had welling up at the end! Absolutely stellar editing keeps the pacing of this animation zipping by while allowing the gags enough wiggle room to register and land. Really amazing what you all achieved!

Family Duels

Had a great time with this and loved the switcheroos and fake outs. Felt the tone shift was brilliant executed. Well done for blowing up a miniature as well! Love me some miniature pyrotechnics!
