The Pursuit Of Murder

I liked the idea, and I loved seeing my old tennis court and the Ilam Apartments as a setting! We planned to do the red string pin board thing, but ran out of time, so that was nice to see. Plenty of room for improvement here, with the biggest issue being audio and the edit. I suspect you had some ideas that didn't make the cut. Hey, that's all part of the competition. Also not much of a road movie, but who am I to judge. I eagerly await the next one! 🎃
This film alternates between the sinister and the humorous, which is fun. The pumpkin look is great. I love that the protagonist is the villain in the story. I can't help but root for the evil pumpkin and even feel sorry for him.
It's not the only film this year to feature a poisoning – in this case unsuccessful!
Does chloroform come in hand sanitiser dispensers these days?
I love the momentary mystery in the final scene about just who has been stabbed.
I enjoyed elements of the aesthetic, but I feel like the exposition could have all been delivered visually.
I really think a version of this film with no dialogue would kill 🔪 🎃
Such a cool film with a hilarious twist on the slasher narrative. Usually the masked killer is hidden in mystique so demystifying the character made for an interesting plot. And superb physical acting from our killer, gives us a lot without ever seeing his face. Nice job!
Some really excellent gags here! And pumpkin dude's dialogue when talking to himself was also really well put together.
As far as theme is concerned, this felt a bit more Cat & Mouse than 'road' (I guess that line you threw in 'this journey must end' is how you justify the road part)
THE BEST THING: Pumpkin head! And fun gags
THE NEXT THING: Continue to refine your technical skills and tighten your edits up so it's nice and lean, and the pace keeps up!
I reallly enjoyed the opening of this film, and immediately felt like we were in for a treat! The costuming is really great for your main character, and the actor had some brilliant expressive movements and physical comedy that was fun to watch and gave a lot of character even though we can't see their face. The story was also engaging and worked well for 48 hour's short film format.
Personally I didnt think the straight to camera explanatory dialogue was needed, and that the film could've been even stronger with these parts being told within the events of the film itself.
Overall this was a really fun film to watch - as you continue to build your skills with audio/edit I think your team will do well in future 48 hour entries :)
