Absolute standout!
A ship fights a house!!!

True 48Hours energy. Multiple animation styles smashed together with stick puppets and miniatures for a frenetic, action-packed film with heart. Some moments in this film were hilarious, and others touched my heart. Fun characters with amusing accents. An epic stormy battle where the filmmakers are as gods breaking the fourth wall and getting in on the action. Music and rain build a strong atmosphere.

I'm sure more stories could be told in this team's style. There's room to grow with better camera focus and sound recording quality to make this fun format even more immersive.

Heaps of fun. I love the German details in the models, and the boat-house fight scene was really cool - neat to see how it was made too. I'm super impressed you're a school team. I hope you keep going, because I can't wait to see what you do next year!

One of the funnest film to start off the heats! This is one of the examples why I love the school teams in 48 hours.

This was utterly hilarious, the most memorable film from the first heat. The story was just so unexpected and random.

For me, the first two thirds were brilliant, but it then drifted to the ending - the boat-house fight scene was funny particularly in how the fourth wall was broken, but was also where the pacing slowed down and the film started to drag a bit. Having said that, that too was all part of the fun.

My favourite film from the first heat, had me nearly in tears within the first 10 seconds, an absolutely hilarious ride!
Other people have noted this, but your pacing did slow down near the end, if you cut the boat vs house scene a bit shorter that would have helped a-lot!

Overall, this film is wild, absolutely loved it!

Loved this! By far the most unique film of the heats so far. I love the use of mixed medium in this and The Road less Traveled. My favorite part by far was the shockingly clean animation of the little german boy punching babayaga in the face. It was hillarious after so much raw puppetry and gave the same vibes as when animations suddenly cut to rotoscope.
Your story was a little hard to follow but the characters carried. I especialy love that "The Cave of Infinite Exestensial Terror" is never shortened or abreviated.
I can tell you loved making it and i loved watching it.

My partner is German and this was a spot-on depiction.

The combination of animation styles in this is incredible! Such a unique and beautiful way to tell a story, which is also incredibly funny. Incredible stuff

The main event from Rolleston College was an absolute delight! The battle of the house and ship was truly spectacular. We've heard other competitors quoting this film at other heats and trying to do the voices ahahaha

THE BEST THING: The story was a lot of fun and the accents were excellent.
THE NEXT THING: We reckon if you guys pick a style and stick to it for the entire film, you'd be well on your way to seeing it climb the ranks in this competition! Worth considering!

Those cardboard sculptures are sooo neat. A lot of work must have gone into making them and this entire film. I enjoyed all the details, like the feet on baba yaga's house
