Fuck yes team now THIS is how you subvert holiday genre. An absolute banger of a film with a sublime boujie location and some of the hottest pulse pounding colour grading of the year, as a group of lackadaisical rich snots come to terms with the end of their endless summer. Or is it?

Never a dull moment in this film as hard partying is thrown in our face from the get go, with an intriguing "Day 475" quickly appearing on screen. Yet the slowdown from intoxication to sobriety still being at night indicates that time is very much irrelevant to those without cares and responsibilities, and more importantly endless means.

Where the film was elevated in my book were the little moments that connected the characters. A homoerotic look here, an eyeball of trepidation there and we get told all we need to about the closeness of the bond that has been formed. Really clever story beat to have people with all the time on their hands quite literally thinking about their hands by the way.

Very strong smooth edit and Jackson shot the shit out of this one. My very minor nitpicks would be maybe an ever so slightly held reaction shot of emotion at some point (the end specifically) could have elevated the film, but on the other hand by not offering that it reenforces the picture that has been painted of exactly who these people are. And there were just a couple of moments of sound not quite perfect.

But you let your film BREATHE. Lesson be learned for 99% of 48 film makers. This is how you pace a short film in my book. Great job team.
