The Plot Thickens

What the Julian Garland is this? A film that is guaranteed to tickle your tuber-lers! What a delight to be transported to a patch where frostbitten spuds can be the scandal of the year. But the scandal this year will blow the frostbite out of the water.
It's a joy to see a film have such fun with language and the quainter things in life, and to watch this ramp up to a higher-stakes situation.
This was positively delightful; quite gentle, grown up Peter Rabbit vibe.
The camerawork wasn't particularly emotive, but that's not what a comedy begs for!
Good vibes!
I love how seemingly 'gentle' this was and the gradual escalation in stakes. Some classic West Country allotment chat too. Julian's flight was really funny and when the film properly took off, excuse the pun. The payoff didn't quite hit as hard as it could have, it's a strong idea, but I know how hard it is to make that kind of joke land in this comp so I still say bravo!
Ah, the trials and tribulations of competing in the A&P show. The banter back and forth was fun - perhaps if that was just a little bit tighter there'd be just a little bit more space to play with the final problem they're presented with? I dunno. I enjoyed this a lot - thank you!
GOOD VIBES and I like this much more than last years film! Knows what it is, and delivers! Andrew and Clem look like they're having so much fun doing these fuckass accents and climbing all over the place. Such a crazy switch up. In some ways, felt a bit like a school team idea, but with adults. Would have liked to have seen more settings, more camera setups, and a few more well crafted jokes, but i'm just stoked they got this in on time, and on budget!
A real class job from this team. A hilarious script and performers hamming it up till it tastes like bacon. Such a good turn in the 3rd act and a funny ending. Ka pai!
This took an unexpected turn! I really enjoyed how unpredictable this one was. Loved Julian Garland!! Lol
Incredibly charming! An excellent showcase of buddies trying to solve their own little niche thing - with a clear, consistent tone throughout the film. Bravo to this team for their commitment to their performances and for getting the film in on time this year - great to see!
We think the slam dunk this film needed was a clearer shot of the expert gardener getting hit in the head. It’s a challenging shot to achieve, and while the suggestion is there in the film, it would have landed even better if it was more clear-cut.
THE BEST THING: Committed performers really carry this well and keep us hooked.
THE NEXT THING: Continue to sharpen up those technical skills! A step up from last year for sure - we can see this team going to new heights with the right support in the camera/sound/editing department!
