Auckland City Managers - Job Description

We are on the lookout for a city manager or city managers in our biggest region, Auckland. It’s a tricky job so we’re open to applications from a duo or trio who can cover skills between them.

You’ll need to be super passionate about filmmaking and want to help other people make great films as well. If you’ve competed in the competition in the past, that would be ideal.

Here’s what we are looking for:

SKILLS:

  • Great with people
  • Embedded in the Auckland film community
  • Administration skills
  • Technical skills - can use premiere pro, google drive, slack
  • Event management
  • Public speaking - presenting the events

EXPECTATIONS:

  • This is a paid part-time role
  • You will need to promote the competition during the registration period
  • You will need to organise and run the Auckland Launch and Hand-in
  • You will need to organise and run the heats, including arranging projection
  • You will need to manage the judging process, including finding judges
  • You will need to organise and run the Auckland City Final
  • You will need to attend the Grand Final
  • You’ll also need to be available to engage with teams during the competition, providing support and answering questions

The remuneration for this role is not huge, and it is part-time. You will need some flexibility if you already have a job or freelance work. You can expect to meet some of our finest local filmmakers and play a big roll in this epic nationwide film event.
