A sweet film with heartfelt, authentic performances and some funny beats. What really made it for me was the moment where you see Pete's memories come flooding back and you see how much it means to him to remember all the beauty and love.

Some practical suggestions for next time would be:

Try and get the sound levels right (even if that means editing in post-production). The 48Hours submission guide includes some helpful advice about what decibel levels you should aim for.

Consider using a boom mic for more consistent and less muffled sound.

Try and get the exposure right on each shot for a consistent look throughout the film. Some of the scenes looked a bit dark. You should aim to get the settings right on the camera, but tweaking the exposure slightly in post-production is also an option.

Overall, this was a lovely film with a good visual look. I can't wait to see more from this team.

Great job team! This was a really sweet story. My automatic 48 Hours mind was expecting a more sinister 'Misery' type twist but I like that you guys committed to the heartfelt ending. The performance from the neighbor was a stand out to me too. Tino pai!

From the opening details of the implanted chip and reset day with memory loss I was expecting this film to take a sort of black mirror path - what a wonderful suprise for me to find it was actually such a heartfelt and sweet story! I wish we had a little more explanation about what kind of world this is in order to understand the existence of reset day - is it futuristic? are these chips common practice? Regardless, I thought making your own holiday for the holiday movie genre was a smart idea in letting you branch out from what other teams might do, and allowed you to tell a story that is unique to you. The ending scene was a particularly great part of the story that will hit viewers in their feels. I am personally a sucker for films in 48 hours that break the mold by not shying away from being emotional and earnest, so I loved this about your film. There were some technical aspects that could be improved upon - particularly sound levels (unfortunately this is not something I do so I have no good advice on this - but I see some other commenters have given advice!) This might be something to focus on to improve further for next time.
Can't wait to see what you do next! :)

I was surprised how topical this team went!
This was a poignant, sweet movie.
The serious ones always win me over!

THE BEST THING: A really interesting concept that we would have loved to see fleshed out further to show how it impacts the world - your neighbour scene was particularly intriguing! Very well done.

THE NEXT THING: Lots of exposition at the start of this film takes us out of it pretty fast. “You had an accident, we had to put a chip in your brain, also it’s our anniversary, and you’ll be fine” are things that perhaps could be shown in other ways rather than just chatting about them. The main thing for next year though, is to work on your audio mix, make sure you have level dialogue levels throughout, please! We missed a lot of it even on our second and third viewings.

Promising stuff from this team! Looking forward to next year’s submission.
