I low key enjoyed this film. There was an emotional through line that held the film together nicely. And the pay off at the end was well worth it. Super great shot with the blood mixing with the water. This very well will be a team to watch for in years to come!

Another great addition to the BBFilms list of films.
Super tight script and spot on acting made this a treat to watch.
A grubbier protagonist and less clean environment would have helped sell the post-apocalyptic vibe but not essential.
Solid building tension throughout and a great ending!

It’s unfortunate that films like this get underrated by judges and city managers when they are clearly (to all the other filmmakers) brilliant. This somehow happens every year! and especially in the regions… how it can be managed better? not sure. but team Acedia, as you can see from the comments you guys made a fantastic film, its a shame the comp didn’t support you better.

A lot of love for this film in the reviews. I'd agree that much of the camerawork is really well done and the edit is also well-paced. Most of the film looks really good. However, it is a very static shoot and perhaps judges were looking for a bit more variety there.

A major thing that does let this film down is the audio, which as mentioned above was down to a broken recorder. That may be the case but work could still have been done on better-balancing things and removing some noise. More criminal though are the two pieces of off-camera direction/comments that are clearly heard.

The acting is good but I would question the age-appropriateness of the casting. Are we really to believe that we have a trained and respected psychotherapist/psychologist here with a long list of clients? And the couple have been in a serious, very adult relationship for at least a year? It nearly works.

The story itself is fine, if not overally surprising by its end. I found the voice-over a bit distracting and there's really way too much talk, too much explaining and telling, rather than showing.

A strong effort from a school team though and plenty of skill on display. Just make stories about your age group if you can't find actors that fit the roles better. Well done on being a regional finalist!

Great Lake Film Society consistently hit the nail on the head when it comes to laugh out loud and WTF moments. Sacrifarce however is an exception... it's upped the game with super sized LOL's and not only did the WTF blow my mind but all that talk of Italian food left me ravenous.
Can't wait to see what these weirdos submit next year!

THIS FILM IS SO EPIC. WE'VE SEEN IT 1 TIME AND EACH TIME WE WATCH IT IT GETS BETTER!!!

Style and substance. A top notch film from a rad bunch of film-makers.

the improvement this bunch of film-makers have made in a short period of time is impressive. There's no knowing how far these guys will go in film-making.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they were robbed from awards etc as many have said, as art is always a subjective endeavour, awards and nominations aren't what we should be striving for. But what i will say is that the film this team made was something to be stoked about!!

Solid effort with huge atmosphere. This film revels in its strangeness and stays there. A definite front runner to take out the incredibly strange award at this years comp IMO

Check out this film. The eddie page team have gone from strength to strength over the years. This years offering showcased a maturity in the way the story unfolded and with some great gross out moments to boot.
