Getting a bullet time effect in your film that looks this good in a 48Hour film is a huge achievement! You guys always trying new ideas and crazy technical concepts, and I am always so inspired and impressed! It can be hard to pull off a dialogue heavy film in 48Hours and I think you guys did a great job! The writing was really witty, and the performers were great and worked really well together! I of course adored the stop-motion, I just needed a little more. Therefore, I encourage you to do a full stop-motion animated film next year ;)

Calming The Storm

I loved the concept of your film, and I think you pulled it off really well at the end how everything came together! I love that you can feel the performers are kind of awkward in front of a camera, but you all seem to be having so much fun and it's so infectious and charming! It is paced a little slow, I think you could have cut it down to a snappier film and it would have been slightly more impactful. But overall, this is great stuff! I hope you guys keep entering the competition, I think you guys could go far!

A.I. Dream of Genie

A wonderful 48Hour film that executes everything that it's going for! All the acting is so good, the script is perfect, and the shots and grade is beautiful! And that one shot with the computer screen in the glasses?! If that doesn't win the award for best extreme closeup, then I'm going to A.I generate an image of myself pulling my own hair out (just kidding, I'd just do that in real life 'cause I hate A.I). I really hope I get to see this one again on the big screen at the finals, I really loved it and you guys really deserve it!

Bloom

This was so great! Tackling an animated film in 48Hours is a huge task and you did such a great job! I loved the story and I think the way you worked together as a whānau is so wholesome! The stop-motion sequence was so fun, and even the voice acting from the younger ones worked really well and they all sounded so natural! You clearly have an eye for colour because the whole film from start to finish is gorgeous with very charming character designs too! I hope you guys do really well in the competition!

Campaign

A great way to end off the Ōtautahi, Christchurch heats! Your performance every year is always great and so much fun! I'm always impressed by how well executed your ideas are, I've never really considered implementing audience engagement before in a 48Hour film, and I think you pulled it off really well! The audience was so into this which was really fun! I know you don't want it to, but I will be so mad if this doesn't make grand finals!

The Odyssey

Hands down my favourite film from the Ōtautahi, Christchurch heats! This tickled me good boys, you seem to have executed my exact type of humour, I was laughing all the way through! I love all of your performances, and your backgrounds are genuinely so charming. I'm so gutted you didn't make the shortlist for the finals, it would have been a next level experience seeing this on the big screen! The highlight for me is when the Cyclops drops the skeleton and shouts "oh, gimme another one!" So, so funny! Can't wait to see what you come up with next year!

Face The Music

I really loved your guy's story concept and use of colour! You had some really great shots, and I love how the character goes through the motions he's going through with the band turning up in some really funny places. I think if it was cut down slightly it could have more impactful, it did start to feel a little repetitive. But you guys did a great job, and I think this is a really fun exploration of the neo-noir genre :)
