Loved this film, great use of the genre!

No don't take the couch, it will molest you! That couch was noming on that chick like she was bar snacks.

Oh man, I really hope this team has seen DEATH BED: THE BED THAT EATS, because as a fan of that 70s shocker I absolutely loved this entry. A couple of friends find a free couch and take it home to their flat. However anyone that goes near the piece of furniture kind of runs into trouble. The script was very good, and the film felt fresh.

super funny and clever!

I dug the couch effects, this film had a really good premise and was shot well but left me feeling a little underwhelmed, I think the whole was unfortunately less than the sum of its parts. A little work and it could have been brilliant. Very well done however, definitely a contender for the top 3.

I enjoyed this one. Good story. Great use of a bit of wire. The acting was natural. Got a bit scary too

Quite cool. Quite realistic acting, but I think I've seen that plot somewhere before...no matter. Many of the scenes were pretty well shot, challenges with the broken tap, but loved the plumber's hammer. The final scenes would have been better with more time, but it did convey a menacing kind of feel and discomfort.

Really good story, good genre film. I liked the 'gearing-up-to-face-the-enemy' part, and the flashes at the end. Well done.

This movie was paced well and thought out. All parts of it worked to make the storyline work. Badass couch!

Another 'Joke' Film. Hoo-ray! 5 stars! 10 points? Fuck off.

This rating seems a bit more accurate.

Very clever and funny, this was a great flick that was super fresh and original. Combining great acting, with superb special effects and sound design, this was both a pleasure to watch and a pleasure to hear. Bloody good job! Acting: 10/10 Technical: 9/10 Sound: 9.5/10 Story: 10/10 Total: 10/10

DISGUSTING. THIS FILM WAS ONE OF THE WORST IN THE HEAT. ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER DEMENTED AND SICK FILMS THAT SCREENED. THIS IDEA WAS FUCKEN SICKENING. A COUCH EATING PEOPLE. I HAD MY 8 YEAR OLD SON AT THE HEAT SCARED OUT OF HIS FUCKING MIND. HE NEARLY FUCKEN SHIT HIS PANTS.

A possessed couch is brought home off the street. A pair of hapless flatmates are stoked to get it, until they realise its destructive intent. So, interesting enough story then. The best thing about 'Dead Comfy' though was its usage of the compulsory elements. The ex-bully was introduced with a laugh-out-loud line, the freeze frame was a nice way to wrap the piece up, and the couch used a bent bit of wire the same way The Evil Dead used tree roots (well, similarly anyway). Ultimately, the only thing holding me back from a 5-star rating is perhaps the way it felt quite dated. I'm sure they were going for a 'classic 80s horror' vibe, but it felt a little tired because of that. Great effort otherwise!

A free couch turns out to be more than these flatmates bargained for when it starts to absorb people. Good sound design, some great visual effects and a funny script make this short well worth watching.
