The Last Course

Unfortunately this felt fatphobic and mean spirited. Having the only joke be that's the character is overweight is so lame and cheap. Could have been a funny film but you guys ruined it. I wish I could do a compliment sandwich but unfortunately this was just a mean film. Do better next time

A hitwoman out of the game receives a new target, and has to figure out how to fight back lest she get taken out herself.

This really hit some good 80s action vibes. The music, the classic ‘training montage’, that old school 80s filter over the footage really added to the energy! Also how did you manage to gain access to 3 katanas for a dining room fight scene?! I’m guessing you just had those lying around?? Absolutely wild, love it! Was definitely the highlight of the film for me. As well as the blood effects when her neck gets slit, that looked so authentic!

Some suggestions I have would be to try using some more scenic locations, the majority of the action taking place in a flat tends to be a bit, well, flat at times. Having a few more shots in amongst the fight scene too may help it feel more dynamic.

A fun take on the 80s action genre.

The "I'm too old for this shit" and "Goddammit!" moments are relatable. All power to the protagonist for reclaiming her mojo through an intense workout sequence.

The reveal of the target's two samurai swords (and accompanying witty dialogue) is a real crowd pleaser moment.

The twist ending is great.

I like the 80s TV filter applied to the action sequences. For added authenticity, the aspect ratio of these shots could have been changed to 4:3, heightening the feeling of watching these sequences on a TV in the 1980s.

Some cuts could have been quicker around the light switching off and the reveal of our supposed villain. Making this snappier would help with the surprise and feel more natural.

THE BEST THING: Good attempt at a tough genre! You got montage, you got assasins, you got swords. What more can you ask for? a 30 second shot of the lady smoking while the credits roll please! thank you! lol

THE NEXT THING: Make time for your audio! and find ways to raise the energy of the shot to match the vibe you're going for - in the case of this one, maybe lots of fast cuts during the sword fight along with some clashing sounds would have done some good.
