This is a really cool film. Lovely performances. Some funny gags (no one will ever know what real-life department store you might have had in mind).
A great concept. A wistful story about family, love, loss, and strained relationships.
Lovely execution of what happens when you shine a light through the blue ornament. Beautiful and captivating!
I love the grand reveal after the credits (and the user interface you pulled together for it on the computer). Oh to be in that situation!
Very sweet! The highlight of this film is that ethereal blue effect filling the room and revealing the code, a great effect and one that fits very nicely into the heist genre.
The mother and daughter dynamic is a great setup, and while it was maybe a little too silly, we appreciated the joke of a store sale to get the mother out of the house.
The main note is the stakes for breaking in felt pretty low. Maybe if it was either a bit trickier for the lead to solve the puzzle, or maybe once the puzzle was solved it was trickier to get out of the house without getting caught? Just something to really make the heist feel earned - that was a LOT of money to swipe up just by popping over to your mums house to put a light through a sculpture hahaha
THE BEST THING: Conceptually strong and some great effects.
THE NEXT THING: Raise the stakes, learn more into the tropes of the genre. Looking forward to next years entry!
