Beautiful film! That amazing song and shots of the sisters on their journey was stunning. Congrats of what you've made here

I love to see a film that shows us around the city, there are some really beautiful shots. Up on the hill with the perfect natural lighting adds this really nice reflective element in time with the story's emotional beat, as well as the sun setting mirroring the characters' closure. That moment captures the magic of 48 hours, you have one day to get that and your timing was perfect.

A really nice take on the family genre here – you have a lovely emotional base to your story as we watch these two sisters work through grief and lean on each other following their Dad’s passing.
Some beautiful use of music, montage, locations, and shots set a very soft and sweet tone that suits the emotional foundational of the story. I think this short would benefit from a change in the core story to montage ratio – a bit more story that focusses in on the sister’s relationship to their Dad, their emotions, and Dad’s purpose in leading them to the final destination could’ve elevated the emotional impact even further.
The final scene is a great one to leave us on – looking over the city at golden hour with Dad having set the sisters up to have this moment together finishes the film off on the perfect note.
Emotional earnest films are few and far between in this competition and it’s always great to see a team not shy away from this.

Hey there! Well done on getting your film in even if it was a little late. This was very sweet! You actually managed avoid a trap that almost every other family film fell into this year of making their family high in conflict and not always family friendly. You managed to tell a simple family tale as the genre intends, so nice job. The edit itself is pretty clunky, a bit of dialogue off screen that probably should have been on screen etc. But a good effort at what I reckon was the toughest genre for Chch this year.

THE BEST THING: A sweet conversation and one of the only family films this year to not be a situation that turns to custard.
