Synthetic Sonata

My lack of well known classical music again comes to bite me in the butt as I should be able to list what this team used as its centrepiece plot point but I'm not sure. Maybe Mozart? I'm stabbing in the dark. Yet whatever it was it was used to good effect in this serious effort. Nicky works as a musician for hire in somebody else's private home, playing the music that they request but unfortunately this is restrictive dreary stuff and does not allow them to be themselves. The fact that they even play at all is what gives the film its inspirational weighting; but on that note it might have worked better as a reveal towards the end rather than relatively early on in the piece The person who gets them to play is quite a pent up individual, but there are others who are happy to share their thoughts about creating music. It doesn't matter if you can't read sheets, right? The film would have passed quite well if they got Drama as their genre in previous years. Really a little morbid overall despite the positive messages. Very well shot.

Set in the year 2040. An Android is hired to play piano to help comfort a man whose mother has died, but annoys the man with his music. This had an original plot, but was a bit slow. This team has potential if their film-making skills start to catch up with their ideas.

The plot was a little slow and I'm not sure how 'inspirational' it was but I still enjoyed the performances.
