An utterly ridiculous film in the all the best ways possible. Films like this and 'Substance 1' really captures the spirit of the competition and brings me back to my early days in the competition when I was in high school.
Portrait
The one thing that really carries 'Portrait' is the acting. The acting really captures the complex relationship structure of blended families. Also, whoever drew those pictures, just want to say that you're a really good portrait artist!
The Odyssey
In the eleven years that I've taken part in the 48Hours, this one easily takes the cake for the funniest and most bizarre film I've seen so far. As soon as I saw that opening shot, I knew I was going to be in for a wild ride.
There Came a Big Spider
One of my favourite films from this heat. A very fitting Lynchian aesthetic in memory of David Lynch who sadly passed away earlier this year.

This isn't a review, just a small note from me the director. The title of the film and the robots name is the film is 'MurfhE' not 'murfhE', I can't edit previous entries from previous years once I've submitted them to the screening room.
Substance 1
'Substance 1' is a film that really captures the spirit of the competition perfectly with a great mixture of comedy and horror. I really loved the ending to this film too. Never laughed so much at a film ending in quite a while!
