Cool concept. Liked NZ take on the eighties. Some awesome effects to create an older look to the film. Well one.

I loved how the film looked like it was from the 80s. It looked like a lot of effort was put into that. The jokes were funny and well written. I enjoyed it and it was definitely one of the best of the night!

This film was undoubtedly the most technically polished within heat 5, with all aspects of the film being of a very high standard. The script was timely, fresh and very well thought out, although the acting let it down somewhat. This is a film worthy of a watch and will surely take home a few awards, 8/10.

Bam! Flash back to the eighties! This mockumentary follows a NZ Government initiative of creating the first NZ boy band. Auditions, interviews and rehersals are all covered as the band rises to fame. A wonderfully voiced, err, voice-over runs through this film which in intentional 4:3 aspect ratio and 80s washed out colouring gives a great authentic feel. Excellent writing, story and acting - with the "Love Swamp" video a highlight. A tremendous amount of work has gone into producing archive footage, newspaper stills (and don't forget the costuming) for this which again contributes to it being an integrated, polished short. Will make the finals I'm sure and be fighting it out somewhere near the top when the gongs get given out. Another quality 48 from the GA.

Clearly some talented memebers in this team, great concept and fantastic editing to create the found footage look. The sound was well done and I have caught myself singing about Swamp Love twice since. Also thought the leaf elements were well used. The actors were not quite as impressive as the techinical side, but the voice over was fantastic, you had me at the mention of country calander!

A fun watch! Fast paced, hilarious, detailed and very well made. Definitely my favourite out of the films I've seen. Delighted to see it made the finalists for Chch. Can't wait to see it again!
