Stick to music suckers! I'll send you a postcard (and four wives) from Russia. I loved Joe's song. There's nothing wrong with going downhill after that though...downhill is easy and more fun. Don't make your own music video!

Drifters Insurance

A nice effort with a simple twist and some bizarre ...I mean really bizarre...imagery. I will dream about pig heads tonight.

5 minutes of distorted sound is enough drive people out of a cinema but I guess we all just held on. Maybe half a dozen girls in school uniform helped. I can't help thinking there was some good drama behind this but man, my ears were hurting. I'll go out on a limb and offer to re-shoot this film for them if one of them reads this review..and says yes. Might be a good experiment...

Bones

Sound really let these guys down and I wasn't quite sure what was going on...too much text on the screen slowed it down and then it was suddenly over. One scene had really nice imagery though...the whole thing shot like that would have been interesting. Oh...was it one room?!

48 Mile

Cowps at it again with a decent story and some good film making. Some great dialogue revolving around the rappers stage name "Fish and Chips." Well thought out but slow in places. The Cliff Curtis of Gisborne Central, Robbie Read-Bloomfield shines as per usual and should be in the running for best actor.

The missing page

Kratos stuck to their brief like the mayoralty to Meng Foon. The film should be a contender at the finals for this reason but I'm not sure the Commando-esque flick can go all the way. Entertaining none the less and nice work on the stunts.

Lost in Gardening

Damn! This could have cleaned up if it didn't slow down to a halt right in the middle. Shot in London (I think), it really stood out through it's characters and nice imagery. A really good twist on the genre sees a street punk befriended by an old lady who guerilla gardens in her spare time. Damn! I wish it had kept it's pace after he sat down...they just started chatting and the plot died off. Line of the comp: He gangster raps how he's gonna knife her and she replies, "I love poetry." Really good effort but DAMN!
