I really enjoyed it, I'd actually ben umming and ahh-ing about making a sequel to Dazza and Bazza: Kiwi Dad Detectives for the last year, I'm glad I finally got the hot poker in the rear to just sit down and make it. Already had a few ideas swimming around which made it easier to write.

Don't know about the rest of you but I'm yet to hear a single natural sounding delivery of "not with that you're not!" that sounds like it actually belonged in the script and wasn't hammered in
Big failure from Squint Eastwood this year, I cringe to think of the unwatchable, half unrendered hack job I handed in with seconds to spare being played to an audience.
Can't blame the extra hour as I did my best to not consider it or factor it in in any way.
Congrats to all the winners.
There was mention of free coffee goods for certificate holders, how do we get our mitts on that?
Looks like the noms have been added finally... but no best animation?
Animated entry from Wellington
I'd distribute the prizes a little more evenly. Seems uneven to me that the grand champion walks away with ~$30k worth of stuff, while making the regional finals yields nothing but the glory and most of the regional awards score you nothing more than a certificate. Even winning city runner up earns you little more than your entry fee back.
A few very surprising choices this year. No sour grapes though, congrats to all.
Now when do we find out the nominations for the award categories?
That's a good universal one for all years:
Drink every time someone is wearing a funny costume for no reason other than they happened to own one
Feel free to contribute your own.
Drink any time you see people playing cards.
- Drink twice if someone wakes up with a card stuck to their face.
Drink whenever a crime or event was actually a sleep-deprived hallucination
Drink whenever the card is a memory card in techno-thriller
Drink whenever the compulsary line is spoken at the end of a short for no apparent reason
We just had a clumsy, long-suffering skeleton, got best use of character for it.
I definitely made it a point not to use the work 'luck' or 'lucky/unlucky' in the script, watching the films back to back in the heats you get sick of hearing "oh what a stroke of luck" or "that's unlucky" for the 10th time
I know the team behind third wheel, apparently they filmed almost the whole thing with the microphone switched off. They were going to correct for this by ADRing each line but because most of the dialogue was improvised, they ended up going in the direction seen here.
Happy accident I'd say, I think it adds a whole lot to the film.
^ I too was wondering about this.
Squint Eastwood is back animating. We'll be entering from Christchurch too, what are the odds.
