Thanks Annabel - the forums start heating up a lot as we get closer to the comp, so don't be discouraged no one has replied yet! Keep your eye open for th meetup this weekend at the Meteor for those wanting to find others for teams, ask questions etc!
Unbelievably, each of the top 10 have a different genre!
Sorry everyone waiting waiting, we're working really hard behind the scenes and it'll be worth the wait!

I can only speak from my own experience of Hamilton judges, and they most certainly don't take notice of the reviews during the judging process. For exactly that reason.
Surprisingly not too much *overall* difference between the audience and the single vote from team leader (/team - I figured it would be a "team" vote). Let me ruminate, cogitate, speculate and deliberate.
The thing is, if you made a film in previous years, unless it was a winner, why on earth would you submit a film that wasn't successful last time? You miss out on all the fun an excitement of the weekend, all the buzz of seeing your film be experienced for the first time by an audience, the trepidation of judging etc. Doesn't seem like something anyone who will get anywhere would do anyway.

Some very legitimate concerns. These things have been, and continue to be, discussed amongst the City Managers etc, so don't think your concerns are being ignored.
It's complex though, with issues of fairness, creative freedom, and even the practicalities of the judging process to consider, amongst others.
Still, I imagine with fondness and great interest, an event where everything is made on the weekend. Build that house, birth that actor, sew those costumes (won't take too long, the actors will only be very small).
