Duik Bassel

Hello, over the weekend I tried to make another snowman animation for the lockdown competition, sadly I didn't get it in on time.
I've decided to continue making the film and now that I have more time I have expanded the story a little more.

Part of the story involves Santa's elves riding on the back of reindeer wielding candy canes as weapons. I just started using the Duik Bassel plugin for rigging and animation in the last few days and was wondering if anyone had any tips or knew of any tutorials explaining how to parent the elves movements to the reindeer's galloping i.e. bobbing up and down and holding the reins? Or would this have to be done manually through keyframes?

After Effects Render Issue

Thanks for the reply, will look into it. Like I said I just had the thing upgraded and it’s an uneasy feeling when you see the space getting chewed up like that and not knowing why

After Effects Render Issue

Hi, I just had my computer upgraded, im doing some things in After Effects and when i go to render shots, the file sizes are 300-400mb yet when I look at the C Drive the used amount of space seems to jump by 3gb or even 5gb per shot (cant seem to find where this used space in C Drive is). I was just wondering if anyone knew why this was happening? The files are MOV. I was using CS6 before the upgrade and didnt have any problems like this but now im using AE CC.

Im not the best with computers. I used to save my files as photo jpeg in CS6 but couldnt find that as an option in CC. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

This years competition

Is anyone going to enter this weekend's competition? Looks like it could be a fun one.
Hopefully, they'll have a few more updates over the next few days listing some of the finer details.

This years competition

Looks like they have decided to postpone the competition due to the Covid 19 virus. Bit of a shame, but in the end, probably the right move.

Animation computer workstations

Hello, I’m getting more and more into animation these days and was wondering what are some of the best places to buy computers for this particular purpose?

Right now my general style is either 2d animation paper/cardboard cutouts loaded into after effects in to a 3D-ish sort of environment or forgoing the physical cutouts and making it all within after effects and photoshop.

I’m not the best with computers and tried doing my own search for places but couldn’t really find anything.

Thanks

Missing sections

The new website layout looks good but I noticed that some of the sections in the forums are missing?

Like the tech section, I can't find that section anymore?

Terra Cine camera

I think it looks like a fabulous camera. Hopefully one of the New Zealand camera shops will start selling there products at some point.

A good alternative to things like the Red Camera range and others ?

Don't they also have a full frame video camera in the works ?
