20 sec Intro Question

We've always worked under the assumption that it needs to have all of the legal boxes ticked, just like the actual film. We get release forms for everything in the team intro.

I would find it extremely unlikely that the competition is going to condone the illegal use of music you have not obtained the rights for. After all, they are the ones who will be screening it at the heats.

The law won't change just because it is a team intro...

GRAND FINAL WINNERS 2013

The finals were great, well done to all involved.

We were pretty shocked when we won best team intro, as I am sure many of the others at the screening of the finals in Dunedin can attest.

Since our team intro isn't in the screening room, I'll post it here:

Also, Treefrog: that was your 999th post. I feel you should say something profound to mark your 1,000th.

National finals: Online or TVNZ U?

For those of us who sadly won't be in AK for the finals, will there be any form of broadcast of the event?
Online like last year?
Or perhaps TVNZ U?

Release Form

I was wondering when the release form for 2012 will be available.

We've got a few people who want to know what they are committing themselves to.

Is it just going to be the same as in previous years?

I note that it isn't yet available under paperwork for 2012.

If you were to design new screenwriting software what would you want it to include

in reply to ryan:

Would you want check out / check in or collaborative real time editing such as in google docs?

Depends on who you are working with, doesn't it?

I'd say build in both. Let the user decide which type of editing they will allow for that script in a preferences / options screen.

Characters & Traits, Props, Lines & Special Elements Free-for-all.

in reply to zer05um:

The first shot being the same as the final shot.

Oooh... I hope not. That would make so many of the shorts predictable. It is a nice touch when you aren't expecting it, but imagine that for every film...

What about the first and last lines being the same?

First line and last line of dialogue is still somewhat limiting, but at least has more scope for interesting variation. You don't know who is going to say it, where they are going to say it etc.
