Gems of the Screening Room Lockdown Edition

So far the ones Ive liked the best have been,
Baby Bear
Artificial Selector by Chilly Box
Quiet Moon by AT and JH
Incognito by Angle3 Pictures
Gavin in the woods
and as I write these down I realise that I have a massive bias towards veteran teams and should do a deeper dive into the screening room.

OH No dig felt! Sorry if I came across as defensive! I reckon a lot of us "veteran" teams are in the same boat re: ultra. was a great new aspect for the competition but yeah. For those who are after a challenge yes amazing, those of us who love the competition for the fun of it... yeah not so much.

2019 Thoughts

in reply to DogsBreakfast:

The whole reason we do this competition every year is to have a great time with our mates and make something that we'd enjoy seeing while we enjoy making it. Last year Ultra was very stressful for us, maybe we bit off more than we could chew digitally attaching a severed kingfish head onto an actor in every scene but it nearly broke us. It wasn't fun. It wasn't why we enter the competition. We have won it once and come second so I dunno the fight for the crown isn't as important to us as having a good weekend with our mates who, as we age it gets harder and harder to get together with, let alone do something creative. So this year we decided to opt out of ultra and just focus on having a good time together. Let the chips fall as the will. ( I loved you film DB, your use of the Ultra elements was EXCEPTIONAL)

Auckland finals - insanely good

I thought Jovial Entertainment's "Daddy’s Little Angel" was *bloody* excellent, If it doesn't make it through to the national finals off the judges I reckon it's guaranteed a wild card spot.

Screening Room gold (2017)

in reply to Andrew Todd:

Oh that was so great!
Best floaty ghost walk I've ever seen. Also enjoyed the description of the editor.

How did you get your team name?

I was in a terrible band in high school called something dire like "Insurgency" or something, I honestly can't remember now, but the band was primarily made up of less than cool dudes so in my head I called us Chess Club 7, a play on how nerdy we were and the popularity of the time of manufactured pop sensations
S club 7.
then in the future when we formed out team and needed a name I suggested this name but there's only 5 of us so we lopped off the 7.
I suck at chess and have never been in an actual chess club.
