Whichever dickhead who was involved with the Clonix Orb and is reviewing as "48hourlover"

Stop being a dickhead.
You want to review your own film at 10 stars repeatedly? Cool.
You want to review mine negatively for calling you out, go ahead.

Stop reviewing others in the heats positively and giving them shitty scores. ie "Great! must see film!-3 out of 10"

It's obnoxious as fuck and doesn't even help you get through.

You're not even cheating well.

no not actually a fraudster although I recall some gay guy who tried to rip off my talent calling me a child neglecting salvo stealing con woman but hey you found that link,
Really if my agency was actually fraudulant it wouldnt still be running which it has been for 20years, some authority would of closed it down or the actual industry would of, we hate seeing talent ripped off

hmmm really you read that as me thinking I am important, I am but an agent, who has just happened to have worked with the biggest films NZ has produced, if you think that makes me important you are deluded, I was merely stating the fact is I am where I want to be and doing what I want to do and have been for a very long time, I am lucky if anything because I havent been a struggling artist trying to get noticed in a world where I know how tough it can be for outsiders to get in, I am not trying to get recognised for my work like you are. Admittedly Ive had the luxury of stepping straight into features, but I am not a film maker or a director and up until a year ago I didnt touch or help indipendants out either because financially it wasn't worth our time, BUT then I met a really talented dedicated bunch of film makers that I watched put a whole feature film together for less than what we pay out talent on a TVC in a month. I saw how passionate they were which is something you dont see in the commercial side, to us it is always about the money. But when I saw how these people all worked together it impressed me so now we support films with potential in Australia with talent even though we know there is no financial gain, you will see that I also tried to offer my support with anyone who may of needed talent in Wellington for this challenge. Over here in NZ all my contacts are in highly paid production so I have no little people to support until now when I met a decent guy who is really passionate so now I will hook him up with another bigger production crew and hopefully thats more of a foot in the door for him

I wont name him and I didnt interigate them one by one on a public forum but I was interested in getting to the bottom of it, dispite what media tabloid fairgo said 7 and 17 years ago I work ethically thats probably why I am still in business and have never changed my company name, you see most people I actually work with are in TV or film and we know the difference between current affairs and tabloid media when they had a fairgo had a go 6, 7 years ago I was in the middle of booking up to 150 extras a day over a 2 month period for Fatal Contact had any of it actually been true that whole production would of been in trouble becaue people might of freaed out thinking they werent going to get paid but thankfully most people on my books had been with me for years and knew better so it was all good, if anything we got more random work that I had to turn down because of the film simply because others in the industry that knew me felt sorry for us

hmmm still in that same swanky building they said I moved out of 7 years ago we only put in ads in the towns I was running the bikini model events in thats what we were looking for and $150, $75 $3000 hmmm how much was I charging for their free head shots everyone seems to pluck out a different figure out of the air apart from the girl who booked a photographer under our name who then sent us the $3000 bill, yes we went after her with baycorp and no we didnt pay her for the TVC she walked off set from 6 hours into a 12hr 45minute job booking, seriously wasnt going to invoice the production company after we found out she was featured and they had to reshoot the morning session I think she cost that production at least 15k on overtime

I am guessing film makers want to get recognition eg awards etc so that their work can be appreciated, true?
As an agent I want my actors to get recognition eg awards etc
agents well the studio casting directors all have our numbers so there is no recognition we don't have any agents award parties
an agents job is to push other peoples talent, our only talent is trying to work out what the producer wants to see from the descriptions we get
well other agents may have a list of things we are good at but in a nut shell thats what we do, ok I work with my guys a bit more but thats only because it is in my interest as well if their skill sets improve
but seeing as how I am active on this post and I have seen other people with lins showing their work may as well be cheeky and push the guys
so if you have a project and I think it is worthwhile and it will be decent quality then shout out

The stereotypes
They burrrrrrrrrn.

This is the most interesting turn I've seen a thread take in ages.
[presenter voice] Is it a mysterious as yet un-named member of the group? Or is it Paulette, the mysterious stranger with a dark past. Tune in next week.......

actually I thought I knew who it was because whoever it was wrote another review for them and didnt delete there one of 3 but when I asked the guy tonight to remove the review of 3 that sparked this in the first place he said it wasnt his, so I am back to being stumped I dont know who gave that film 3 but it wasnt me Ive only reviewed three other teams other than my own which I rated them all high even the one I didnt like because hey I remembered them and it took me a week to even find where the reviews were and any film I can really remember is a winner as far as I am concerned , and hey I liked the film that only got the review of 3 I havent given anyone a bad review infact if anything I have been very kind with my reviewing a courtesy I extended my team however I did list our short comings as I have nothing hide, pretty much an open book, saves people from making shit up and if I was cheating for reviews although god knows why but if I was I would actually want good films around me, I am hoping the winner for Auckland is spectacular and no I FULLY dont expect to make it to the Auckland finals am I sad about that, no not the slightest, yes I hope my talent get some recognition because thats what it was about for me, but I still want really good films up there otherwise my friends will laugh if they think I lost to a lemon but this review system holds no weight so really why would anyone bother apart from to be a pratt

some decent actors and some that think they are, if it ever gets real funding it will be really funny though from what I have seen and know but we did the casting and the auditions and then the experiment through social media for building attention which was decent I think we scored them just under 9million views over 7 months

I've been debating a little with myself as to if I should post in this thread and admit to being the DoP in this team..... :-P But what the hell, I'll guess I'll admit to it! And share some of my perspective.

So my little back story: I've done a handful of short films lately, usually as a "DoP". And am a working semi professional videographer (I say "semi", as is my first year at it, after studying film last year. Been keeping fairly busy most weekends lately with weddings and other stuff. It was rather lucky timing the 48hr contest didn't clash with any work for me).

Had planned on entering my own team in again this year, but got caught a little off guard and didn't really put enough time into pulling together team members for it. So after the deadline rolled around, I thought I'd look about for an existing team to join. The problem of course is any semi half decent team would've already locked in their DoP role (which would be my preference), as this is now a mere couple of days before the event. As luck (???) would have it I got in touch with Paulette's team via the forums, and from talking with her it seemed like a fairly serious/hardcore team (unlike others in this thread, I didn't do any googling until long after I'd joined the team...). They already had a DoP, but I could at least be second camera operator, or camera assistant, or something like that. Which sounded all good to me, at least it meant I would get to do what I find fun, playing around with cameras for 48hrs! :-P

Well.... when I met the team on Friday evening I discovered how very very wrong I was with my earlier assessment. As I quickly realised that I was the only one with even the tiniest bit of filmmaking experience, with one fortunate exception: Charlie. (he has nothing to do with our team name, I've got no idea what that "Charlie" in our team name means) Charlie is a film student on exchange from the USA. He too had never met anybody else in the team beforehand (in fact, he'd only arrived in Auckland earlier in that same day on Friday!!).

For the first few early hours of the competition I was very seriously considering if maybe I should just leave and ask to join a friend's team (who'd had their DoP pull out at the last minute. So they were going to shoot with just an iPhone! Thus I'm sure they'd have appreciated my expertise and equipment). But oh well whatever, might as well stick it out and finish what I'd committed to?

So I threw out all expectations out the window, then buckled up to enjoy the rollercoaster ride of chaos! :-D

In the end I was rather pleasantly surprised by what myself (as I assumed the role of DoP fairly quickly) and Charlie (our editor) managed to pull out of it! It certainly exceeded my earlier expectations (but then again.... I'd decided to try and not have any! ha).

But do we deserve 10 or 9 or 8 stars out of 10? Oh hell no. And I'll be shell shocked if we get selected for the Auckland final (but one can always hope and dream!), as having watched a few other heats I've seen many many more worthy candidates than us.

In the end, it was not anything like the 48hrs I had expected or hoped for, but still was a very fun time with a bunch of characters. So yes, I'm glad I did the Rialto 48hrs again this year.

Alex Jones: Let's make a film about this.

Heck yeah, wish there had been a documentary or at least a BTS made of the production of our 48hr film! (Even since the conclusion of the competition, the number of plot twists and turns has been incredible :-P) Would've been far more entertaining than what we made ;-) Haha. But wouldn't have been possible, as editor and I were already pretty flat out busy so nobody was spare for that.

As for the muddle of all these reviews, well.... I know it isn't me! And who knows what the hell is going on, this is why we need a documentary made to explain it all! :-P lol

Once the Auckland Finalists are announced, and it is put in the screening room, so people can view it for themselves, I'd really like to hear more genuine reviews of it. It is all a learning process, and I'd like to hear about improvements I can make as a DoP.

but people dont really speak honestly and openly in those reviews, to me it just looks like people are either polite or just dogging on you because they think youve dogged on them, hey but I did watch some ones tonight that I really liked that were more impressive than anything from our heat

But I still standby what I said two weeks ago, hey anyone taking part in the weekend is a winner because it is just such a fun out there time

Would I do it again, hell yeah if I can have toys that everyone knows how to use, I think it was really good for the talent, they had a ball, I had a ball and it opened a few doors

Is there a Greg Sestero amongst the cast who could write a novel about it? If so I can get James Franco to produce.
