Nope, not at all. It was either spit out a low res version and get it handed in or miss out entirely. We didn't want two disqualifications in a row, that would have hurt way too much. We felt that it was watchable.... even if only barely :)

Seriously... it was brilliant! That must be a sign of a good story and script... when you don't need decent pictures to enjoy it... Wondering if we saw you guys at the heats... We were possibly obnoxiously obvious *cringe*... newbs in big groups analysing everything loudly lol! Thanks for the review :D

Oh you guys were first timers? That definitely puts things into perspective. For a first film you guys did great. Keep at it and head back next year, and if anything put some more of the little amount of time you get into rehearsing those lines. Once you guys have the delivery more natural you'll do great.

2007: Solitaire
2008: F*Dance (National winner)
2009: Mime and Punishment
2010: Art
2011: Nubbin' But Trouble
2012: FETUS 5000
2013: Fist Cop
2014: Man Day
2015: Beyond the Fridge
2016: DICKS
2017: Cameo'd in 11 films.
2019: The Big Number.

Most films linked above are the tidied up Director's cuts. Not indicative of what was handed in

2nd timers... our lead actress was a first timer and the "hand slap guy" was also a first timer :D um... and we have only ever made films for 48 hours so 2nd film ever! :p

This film was a HUGE improvement on lat year :D I think next year is our year... we have already decide to make some films this year so it can only get better!

If you make films between events then you're one step ahead than we ever have been!

no we don't... this will be the first time... If it actually happens... So far it sounds like it is going to be a drinking session with a magic 8 ball and a green screen :p

I just wanted to say big ups to Mista Teas/Stu for his efforts once again this year in Christchurch.
In particular, his method of summarizing the film helped me a few times when I'd forgotten some of the key elements in them.

My "reviews" are pretty paltry compared to his comprehensive efforts.

2014 - Robocrop - "Pads of Passion" RomCom (Best Original Score - Christchurch)
2013 - Robocrop - "The Price of Pilsner" Horror
2012 - Robocrop - "Promises" Crime - DQed (Nominated Best DQed Film)
2011 - Robocrop - "Protocol" One Room (Crime) - LATE

Hey Nick, would it be possible to add a "Add a review" link to the main reviews pages themselves?
As it stands, linking to a review page only shows the reviews others have left
with an awkward dance required to add your own
(i.e. you click on the linked heat number and then click "add" for that film in that heat).

For example:
http://reviews.48hours.co.nz/read/2014/wellington/17/traces-of-nut

That links to Traces of Nut's film,
but to add my review I had to click on the "17" linked in the information section
and, from there, click on "add a review".

I imagine it would be trivial to add that "add a review" link into the main reviews page
with some sort of conditional code so that it only shows up if you're logged in?

2013 - Robocrop - "The Price of Pilsner" Horror
2012 - Robocrop - "Promises" Crime - DQed (Nominated Best DQed Film)
2011 - Robocrop - "Protocol" One Room (Crime) - LATE

TheNimbleMarmoset has made me aware that this functionality seems to already exist.
I guess I missed it because it's at the end of all the reviews, all the way on the right,
where there are no other links and where I wasn't looking.

So... I guess my feature request has been shifted to a feature update request
wherein the link is moved to a more prominent location
so that yobos like me can find it. ^___^
