have reviewed all of our heat, I almost wish it were compulsory, love getting feedback about our films, as long as it is not just - it didn't suck', or something like that

I was gutted I missed your heat - somehow missed that the second night had different times and just assumed it would be same as the first night! Doh! Im sure once they hit the screening room more reviews will start coming in.

Thanks man, I hope you're right! I'd love to go along to the finals with a film in it again. Sounds like the Balls, Nuts and Moffs have all nailed it. I can't wait to see them! Man, it'd be so great to see the Nuts or the Moffs win it.
I don't know how you do all that reviewing. I try to review the films in my heat, but I have trouble with the ones that I didn't think were very good. My mum was an art critic for years and people used to send her packages of poison, so I'm quite wary of it. You seem to strike a good balance between constructive criticism and harsh truth. Good on you.

Your review site is utter crap. I posted a few reviews and it double posted. I try submit another review for another film and it say's "wait 12643 seconds before..." I double posted again, deleted one of the posts and now the rating disappeared? Holy damn shit in hell!!!!!

I've posted over 100 reviews. No issues apart from one double post which was my fault.

Obviously you don't realise how much work went into rebuilding the review site in a really short amount of time. And that work is still being done.

Have a bit of patience...

You're welcome.

I was hoping to be able to review all the films but I think I got somewhere around 175-200, I lost count in the end. There were two other Ak reviewers at least (Sam and Taunise) with reviews that are still to go up for a number of the heats.

Have you got any specific method for reviews? I've always found it tough to take notes because you can barely see what your writing let alone the reviews sheet that I print out, and then there is finding time to make notes or analyse the film and yet at the same time watch the film as you only really have the team intro time to find your bearings before the next film starts.
I tried to do 2 heats this year my own heat and the one before it, I managed to do heat 18 but when I was on heat 19 I pretty much gave up on notes after the 2nd film as the order of the screening threw me and I just resorted to hoping I could remember the films when I got around to reviewing them.

I used to take a little book light but this year went with my iPad. Was still tough to try and type out my notes during the credits and team intro for the next movie as tried to type my notes. 60s (approx time for credits and next intro) sounds like a long time to write but when you're trying to remember all the things you liked/didn't like and make notes on what the film was about it goes by way too fast.

Doing it this way I limited the glow from my screen as I tried not to interrupt anybody else's viewing. Then I tried to get them onto the review site that night where possible so they were as fresh as possible and I could add to my notes. Was definitely a better way for me than paper notes as I struggled to read my hand scrawled notes previous years plus I could cut and paste the bulk of my notes then try to expand on them where I could remember more.

After watching some films again in the screening room I may go back and adjust my review as they are better/worse than the first time I watched them and that could just have been down to who else was in the heat (making them look better/worse) or just the last heat of a long day etc. Plus I can add to the review as there is no time limit like during the actual heats, but I felt it was important to try and get my reviews up quickly cause I know most people are checking their reviews the next day, if not that night.
