Well alright, I'll kick us off.
Dragon V Mouse came from a comic book that a guy who was involved in the team in our first year drew in maths class one day.
Decided to do the competition a few hours before registration closed and it was the first thing that popped into my head for some reason.
The comic featured a Mouse fighting a Dragon with various weapons, I can't really remember much of it, but it was called Dragon vs Mouse. Changed to to Dragon V Mouse to reference the then naming sponsor, V and I preferred the way it sounded to vs.

I'll have to fight the urge to call the team Dragon X Mouse next year as it'll be our 10th in the competition.

I can't quite remember exactly why but it's something the lines of this boring tale. When I first entered the 48 hours I went with the name Sakura Productions and I went with that for 2005 and 2006 but coming into 2007 I would look at all the sort of casual sounding names and I thought Sakura Productions sounded a little bit too pretentious. When I decided to go with a new team name I decided to go with something more casual, something that begins with the word "Team" which in hindsight I regret. I think I went with Team Spielberg because I like Steven Spielberg and it felt appropriate at the time.

'Riveting Hamster' came from me going through words from a random word generator back in 2015. We've kept the name this year (after not competing in 2016), much to the dismay of some of my teammates.

Back in 2008, we started as a team of teachers from the same school. Looked for something education based, stumbled on the thought of our goal of making learning stick, wanted all learning to stick, so Everything Sticks.

Loudly remarked "Yes!" in The Dark Knight Rises when Selina Kyle delivered the line in my sig.

Dog's Breakfast came about because I was expecting it to be just that in our first year. The reality was quite different and we made the AKL finals in our first year. However we have had some shockers over the past 10 years but I've loved it all and we decided to keep the name because it suits our style.

I don't think I named any of my teams - Maybe helped with Electric Pink Company - which started as a girls team - we got dance one year which was loads of fun but an awful film. This thread helped me sort out my signature though and try to remember what I did in what year. Seemed I wasn't that loyal to one team!

Fargish - I was acting in a home movie and when my co-star failed to pick something up I laughed and yelled something like "fucking funny shit" at the camera but got cut off. So "Fargish" became our catch phrase when anyone mucked something up.

Meat Pie - Based on the line from Shaun of the Dead, "There is no 'I' in team but there is in meat pie".

Dusty Tapes - used to make home movies using Hi8 and D8 cameras that used tapes. So many tapes used, and gathered dust as we went on to better things.

Ahrjeebee - I'm Rowan, by brother's Greg, together we are
(or were going to be) Rowan Greg Broductions, or RGB. Then chose the phonetic spelling of Ahrjeebee (Greg isn't part of the team this year but he did animate the logo).

I was in a terrible band in high school called something dire like "Insurgency" or something, I honestly can't remember now, but the band was primarily made up of less than cool dudes so in my head I called us Chess Club 7, a play on how nerdy we were and the popularity of the time of manufactured pop sensations
S club 7.
then in the future when we formed out team and needed a name I suggested this name but there's only 5 of us so we lopped off the 7.
I suck at chess and have never been in an actual chess club.

We did the 48Second challenge back in 2010 and we were trying to be funny and cheap so we did the sound effects by making noises.

Apparently, me going "Toowit Toowoo" was so funny we used it as a team name the following year.
