Ness Patea

The HP48Hour season is my favourite time of the year. I have met so many great people through the competition and this is the time we all get together and make some films!

The competition kick-started my film-making career and it's gone from project to project and now I find myself in the position of Wellington City Manager and National Operations.

Sometimes I feel a small twinge of disappointment that I can't enter the competition, but we have so much fun running this beast it is all worth it, a dream job in fact!

Any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch, we love to hear from our teams.

Ruth Korver

I first entered HP48 hours in 2004 (and got musical). It didn’t put me off and I participated a further eight times before finally winning the Grand Final in 2013 as part of team Traces of Nut. It was a high point in my filmmaking career and I made some great friends and collaborators from the competition.

After the celebrations were over, I was asked to co-manage the Wellington event for a couple of years before taking on National Operations as well. So while I get to sleep on the shoot weekend, I now spend way more time on the competition than I ever did.

It’s great,  I love watching the films, meeting the teams and being part of one of New Zealand's most exciting and insane filmmaking events.
