I liked the tent as a portal to the library. The night time shots showed nice lighting. Was sweet and endearing but didn't have *enough* to make it great.

I don't one-hundred percent know if spoken word poetry performance qualifies as a musical, but by the time the main character enters a portal through a tent in the woods to a library, I really didn't care. I really enjoyed the humour and look of this film, and this edit in the film was just so simple and well done. Would have been cool to have a bit more even dialogue sound for spoken word scenes at the open mike night, but this kind of gave the sound a kind of live, film reel crackle.. which was cool.

I really, really loved the premise of this film (with the help of a guru, guy has to learn to use words properly to compete in a spoken word competition). There were some really funny moments. Production values were good enough to keep me engaged with the story. I wish at the end we had some indication of how well he did in the competition (audience reaction, etc.).

Once I understood the use of genre, I thought it was very clever. The film was well shot for most of it, and sounded good as well, however, I do find the story to be progressing a bit slow for my liking. But overall, I thought this deserve to get #1 or at least #2 on the audience favourite as it was a very clever film.

I remember thinking there was some really interesting writing in this film. I really liked the premise and the library in the tent was great. Sometimes I thought I wasn't quite getting all the details I was meant to, but over all I thought it was an original idea with some compelling moments.

Really enjoyed this film, the library tent was definitely a highlight for me. Can't wait to see what this team can do next year, definitely have a lot of potential!

Great film here, very enjoyable and some nice shots. Not sure how well it aligns with the genre? But an interesting take either way. Well done.

Not quite sure you stuck with the genre here, but was entertaining enough none the less. The portal scene was done well.

Really neat start and end to the film with a cool story idea. The development in character struck me as a bit sudden as his progression to being a lyrical genius was really fast. Overall really nice concept and delivery, Good work guys!

I liked some of the ideas in this story but it was a bit too abstract with the genre. Also the actors accents were all over the place, would have been better to stick with kiwi or american as the interchange was distracting.

Loved the tent library transition. Awesome lighting. Made me chuckle.
