This was a odd film, reminded me of a meld between Killer 7, doctor who, denny crane and the view of someones mind who has had too many long nights and not enough short steps off a wooden plank. This is a randy jaunt through wonderland, but hidden expertly by a eloquent veil of psychology and mind altering digital substances. The two lead actors (Geoff and Troy) push the boundaries of disalussioned eloquence and munted aliteration to perfection.. the editing jumps like a prize bronco and settles nicely towards the end into a limpid pool of sleeze, and the story rattles around in a tin or can like container. 4.5 out of 5 stars, the only thing that would have made this better would have been a melodic laugh.

The biggest missed opportunity in the whole heat. Terrible, cliche plot, terrible dialogue, terrible flow and useless effects thrown into the mix for no apparent reason. It became jarring and disconnected the audience. Huge disappointment

"lol what is this" is pretty much the over-arching theme of this one. Really bizarre and trippy throughout, though it was entertaining all the while. Good visual effects. Great voice acting and a great performance by the lead. I will admit I didn't really know what was going on most of the time, but the timing and edits were done well and they made me laugh (which was hopefully the intention). I really liked the fight sequence. The head chopping part was amazing and hilarious. That was the realest severed head I done ever did see. The eye-gouging scene seemed a bit over-the-top in terms of gore. The burning scene was hilarious, and the ending did a good job of tying it back to the beginning and making some sense of the utter madness. Things to work on: I don't even know what to say. It was such a bizarre film that it pretty much did its own thing start to finish. Well done, and well done driving all the way down to Christchurch to get to witness it!

AHHH! So bad. Poorly edited, written and bad acting. This movie is the answer to a huge let-down.

Here we had this heat’s sister piece to The Clown, another WTF romp that left your brain with mental bruises. The interpretation of found footage here was interesting, with the ‘footage’ being the POV of a disembodied (I think?) eye. Actually I really have no idea what this was all about, very odd; perhaps a second viewing might elucidate things a little. The disembodied narrator voice was oftentimes quite hilarious, making matter-of-fact proclamations that really didn’t need to be said, although it also occasionally seemed to channel the collective conscience of the audience, especially with its repeated utterance of “What’s going on?” The fight sequence against the three black-clad characters had some priceless moments, including a well-edited decapitation effect in the best Peter Jackson tradition. And those were some sweet smoke rings that doctor was blowing. So yeah, a pretty crazy trip, that left you bewildered and feeling like you probably missed something important.

A guy picks up his dismembered eye and from there we see the world through his, um, eye. He travels around telling us what he is doing (even though we can actually see it for ourselves!) He either flashbacks or is transported around various locations in order to get revenge on the doctor who removed his eye. (I believe!) This came from the Motueka region as well (What's in the water up there?!) Delivered in 4:3 ratio I puzzled over whether that was intentional or not. Some off-camera direction was heard and this was just plain bizarre overall. Some memorable touches though: The decapitation scene & eye removal; a line from the doctor "I just love smoke. Don't you?" and an actor that reminded me of Ryan Gosling. Unless it was used elsewhere I believe your use of the line as "Your eye did that" was incorrect. Clever, but incorrect. Weird and wacky. Will be up there for Best Bad/Incredibly Strange film.
