Found footage film here with a slightly different take on the usual as a pair of friends discover their mates Honeymoon DVD while he's out of the house. Some well written and acted characters, thought the killer was rather creepy indeed and the wife played very well going from a happy go lucky newly wed to annoyed and desperate. Both the 'found' footage and 'normal' footage shot really well and paced nicely but I did see the end coming from the start, I think if the wife actually tried to kill the guy and ends up killing herself may have made for a good twist, as what ended up happening was what we all were expecting from 1 min in.

Hmmmm not to sure how I feel about this one. Going to sum it up with saying a languish tale, yet lined with a sense of praiseworthy film-making, and a ray of hope for the future. This team should be proud of what they have made, it was an entertaining flick, and saw some steller moments.. especially from the acting of the "bride" and "groom" , and very natural performances from the two leads.

Good natural acting by the leads, well shot but a bit predictable. Over all a good watch though.

Two guys left alone at a mate's house stumble upon an old honeymoon DVD from their mate's previous marriage, No doubt hoping for a bit of amateur porn action, they put it on and watch the events of a grisly few days. Some nice looking shots (even if it took a while for anything to happen) in this and quality sound. The acting was also quality work and the found-footage spin was nicely played out. Very straight forward in terms of plot but you've delivered a polished little film that was well received by the audience. Nice work!

This was an interesting and somewhat uncomfortable film. I didn't really predict where it'd go after the opening scene of the blokes goofing around. The scene where they're deciding what to do with the DVD was funny. Did you intentionally color-grade it really warm, or was the white balance off? Good shot composition and great cinematography throughout. I really liked the reaction shots of the guys as they were watching the story unfold. Those shots were superbly crafted. Great interpretation of the "found footage" genre, and a nice effect of it playing out on the TV. Super creepy ending (to both the found footage and the film itself) and pretty dark. Things to work on: Make sure your white balance is locked down, or, if you're doing it for effect, maybe color grade it a bit to make it obvious you were doing it on purpose. Is this nit-picky? Absolutely. You guys did a pretty awesome job all-around, so all I can pick at are the nits! ;-) Personally, I would have preferred a story that wasn't so dark, but that's me.

with the first cut I was wondering if they had misunderstood the found footage genre. but as it turned out this team has rather an interesting take on the found footage idea. nice shooting and editing. (although depth of field was just a bit to shallow for my liking) clearly a team that knows what they where doing. good script. solid acting well made technically. just lacking an x factor. the creators should be happy with their finished short. I look forward to more next year.

I really like the interpretation of 'found footage'. The image and sound quality were really good. It had a unique feel to it. The acting was quite convincing. I like that the story was dark. Happy endings are annoying. That said, it was still a little bit predictable. But part of the fun was suspecting what's up, and just waiting for it.

So it seems that like others, I was at first worried that this team had completely misunderstood what Found Footage as a genre actually means. But as it turned out they knew exactly what they were doing, and delivered a story that cleverly features both a prominent Found Footage-style element, and a couple of characters literally finding some footage. After an introductory section where we meet the characters, what follows involves seeing the footage played on a television, but also watching the watchers, observing the increasingly unnerved reactions of two guys witnessing this rather suspicious honeymoon video. This film looked really great, and the shots looking over the top of the TV back at the guys watching were especially nice. Also, the general camera style of the found footage had a nicely played candidness about it, helping us to really believe that we were all voyeurs to a private recording. I also really enjoyed the performances on display, with the two guys demonstrating a growing unease which could have easily been overdone, and the honeymooners themselves essaying a steady progression from comfortable newlyweds to occasional cracks forming as the guy continues to refuse to switch off that damn camera. We guessed what was coming before it was made plain, but that didn’t necessarily harm the film at all, but instead helped to form a sense of dreadful inevitability. The opening section felt unnecessarily long (ie: pre- finding of footage), and I wonder if this could have been tightened up to allow more room for the viewing sequence and endpiece. That said, I might have to rewatch this because I do vaguely recall that the owner of the house/footage was shown to be a camera and film enthusiast, which informs his character’s later actions. But if the first bit had issues, the pacing of the found footage itself was pretty much perfect I thought. The capper at the end with the guy having come home early was timed well, and ended precisely when it should have, at that “oh shit” moment. A really nice film that got better as it went along, with a decent sensitivity to the delicate matter of tone. I’m keen to see what this team do next.
