It was pretty funny and well made. The rest of my review shall be blank. .

Pretty good idea. Started strong, ended strong, but ran out of steam in the middle with some jokes stretched out a little too long.

A great take on the 'fad' genre and sharp satire of fads in general. 'Blanking' was a good metaphor for the transitory and meaningless nature of trends. Well shot and funny. Bla-n-King!

really good and probably my favourite of the night. the blanking idea itself was well-thought through - lots of kind of subtle allusions to other similar "fads" like parkour and urban exploration. the required elements i thought were particularly well-integrated. i think the team played to their strengths - the slightly weaker acting didn't really hinder it at all with it being presented as a documentary.

Great concept and well executed. A pleasure to watch - although I am glad it didn't go any longer. Good fit for a 7 minute film contest.

A.F.M! (If you know me from this competition you'll know what that stands for). But yep...a mockumentary, which if you don't get as your genre I absolutely can't stand in this competition. It was well done and all I guess; covering an advanced form of hide and seek where the objective is to actually disappear as quickly as possible, or sometimes for as long as possible when considering 'endurance' blanking. But mockumentaries are a cop out. It also wasn't 16:9 [windowboxed] and end credit was '48 Hours 2011' (not the actually required wording) which just added to my annoyance.

The first film to screen in this heat, also turned out to be the best in my opinion. It was well shot and genuinely funny, a clever and thoughtful send up of the fad genre. Some great comedic acting, especially the female lead, whose lines got the biggest laughs. The ending was particularly clever and well done.

2nd favourite of the heat. Thought it was clever, topical and very funny in parts. It did drag on a little in the middle though, and some of the jokes were a bit too obvious (Dad's jokes galore) for my liking. Nice mockumentary style acting, very dry.

A mockumentary on the fad of Blanking - or hiding essentially. A couple of blankers and their support-woman take us through some of the variations of the sport. Pretty well done in the mockumentary style, nicely shot, good sound, well acted. A lot of 48hr mockumentaries have such a familiar feel to them though that for me there was a lot of "I've seen this before". Certainly reminded me of a lot of the Sports films from 2010 particularly as it was a wacky and pointless fad. I found some of the jump cuts during some of the dialogue rather distracting as it wasn't obvious that the cut was moving to another part of the "interview". A few laughs and you made the Welly final so well done!

Excellent concept and great, convincing acting. Loved the costumes. Like MistaTeas above, the jump cuts were a bit distracting - they were ok in some parts, but the ones during the more 'formal' interviews could have been covered by cutaways I think. They started to make the interviews look a bit like the Sensodyne ads, and I hate those things. Apart from that, it had the documentary look and feel down and being such an original and ridiculous idea it really stands out. Congrats!
