i think color space should be included in the technical rules next year.
specifically whether the hand in quicktimes should be full gamut rgb or rec 709, cause i don't think that was clear.
i bet most people hand in full gammut rgb (0-235) (including us) and of course when played on a projector calibrated for rec 709 (16-235) that will have a bad gamma shift and look way too dark and crushed.
xyz is only relevant to dcp files, so that shouldn't be anything?
if it was an rgb or 709 to xyz thing the issue would be way worse than just a gamma shift or being too dark - the colors would actually be totally different. you would know.
rec 709 is a broadcast standard but would look washed out on a computer screen.
