While it would be great to see more films uploaded, I cannot see them making it a requirement.
Unfortunately some people are not proud of their films and would rather it was never made, let alone uploaded. It would be pretty unfair to expect those people to upload their films, specially if they lost friends over it or if it could effect them negatively on a professional level.
As for the organizers uploading them all, yikes that would be a massive undertaking, the poor buggers have enough on their plates as it is!

Unfortunately, roughly only half of the films produce over the weekend are in the screening room.
This is pretty standard for Christchurch and it is a shame as some interesting films don't see the light of day again! You can't force people to upload though and it is their call. However, I personally believe uploading is part of completing your 48HOUR experience.
I hope the "The Clown" from CHCH gets uploaded soon...you've got to see that in full to appreciate its "incrediable strange and badness".

Yeah that was one I was really interested in viewing.
On a side note I watched your film in the screening room, well done on a brave concept. As one reviewer said it was well thought out. Also was surprised when I read the credits to see the name of one of your lead actors who I have not seen for over 30 Years! Used to help babysit him, I am getting old!

Cheers for that. As always with our efforts in this comp we wished we done more with it and executed a little better. More backstory was planned but we decided not to film it on the day...my call I think. We had fun which is always our main aim...although we hope that one day our stars will line up.

Was that Mike? 'Cos that would be funny given what a monster he is now.

Now, in the 4 years I have entered this competition I have made some very bad shorts, one of which even won best bad film in CHCH (I think this year was a bit of a step up quality wise from previous years though). Despite this, I usually upload my shorts because they are an accurate representation of what we achieved over the weekend. Last year I didn't upload my short because a number of rendering issues meant I ended up handing in an incredibly rough cut which even had me saying "action" in it.
Ultimately I didn't upload it then because I was so disappointed in the short, but now I kind of regret that decision because, despite the technical issues, it is still an accurate representation of what we accomplished over that weekend. As I unfortunately no longer have a copy, it is now impossible for me to watch it with some distance from the weekend and see some positives in the short, something which I have been able to do with all of my other shorts (even the best bad film winner). So I urge everyone to upload, even if you are slightly dejected with your short right now, as you may look at it later with some distance and see some positives in it.
