The make up is mine - the props were made from scratch, except the guns - those we got by other means -Those shots were done at 1pm Sunday at the Christchurch Rife club. The dresses/accessories/1890's shirts were mostly from my own wardrobe and a costume shop, hair by research, creative approach and shit loads of hairspray. The ageing done with baby talc from the Warehouse and No 7 foundation. I was on me hands and knees ironing pointy corners into shirts for a good hour! - and spent a good deal of time writing prop lists, sourcing stuff as other more pointy headed people banged out the script.

By the way - I don't do this for a living, so no other help there. I can't take credit for the facial hair. That was all the actors own work.

The location belongs to friends of a friend. It is Otahuna Lodge in Tai Tapu - and we were enormously grateful for it. The only reason we could use it was that part of the building has had to be renovated since the quake, both owners are nice, supportive people who love seeing creative stuff in our city.

I understand that you did not like the film and happy for you to say it - and believe me it can be hard to sit there and see things on the screen that you are just desperate to fix - but to suggest on widely read public forum that we did it with money or pre-prepared is just plain b........

Hey - if you wanna see other stuff have a look at the films we submitted for the last five years of 48 hours under Pressure Produc and Wingman Films. Debon Air shows the same level of work on costuming, props and location in the 1950-60 period.

Hey hard-working background crew might not be the ones that twiddle the knobs or do the pointing - but our contribution can make or break it man.....

Looking forward to seeing some bloody awesome films from Chch in the national final and to buying Alex and Kawiti a pint!

Just found out that I am being shipped North to speak at a conference in Auckland on 48 hours Chch 2011 final night. Boooooooo!

I swore I'd avoid the forums to keep my sanity, but was sucked in to see why the city finalist clock had been pushed back.

I read our team reviews (suspectTV) and one reviewer dagged our piece because one of the main characters was unbelievable as a normal average dad due to his "brutal spartan beard", which detracted from the dad's character.

So I'm the guy with the beard... AND i'm a pretty boring average guy, and I'm the real-life father of the kid in our movie. But I suppose in real life my beard does detract from my "character" so fair enough. hehe.

But the real point here is that my beard was reviewed as BRUTAL! How awesome is that? I have a freakin BRUTAL spartan beard!!

Yeah that was me too. Man I need to be nicer in my reviews. But yeah bro, your beard is badass.

I'm considering doing an Oscars-style facial hair montage for the finals. There were some amazing examples this year. Probably won't have time for it in the show, though :(

I had a couple of cans of V tucked away in his beard for emergencies.

I don't think I done well, but here is what I managed to do
- Get three rounds of applause (poor editing)
- Get the audience laughing (it was that bad)

Unintended, but at least they had fun.

Remember that they were totally laughing with you. Even the mightiest of V48 teams have come from such humble beginnings. They laugh because they remember what it was like when that was them.

No. It got lost because of a program malfunction. I am waiting for a reply from the City Manager to see if I can get a copy. Hopefully I do.
