Heat Nine always looked like it was to be the power heat - maybe it's all just a little too close to call without a recount or something. I hope you guys didn't leave any hanging chads!

Heat 8 ...was plagued by cinema sound issues for the first 2 shorts...shame they didnt re run as this could of affected results...as for audience favs my picks were the Grand Cheval Child Jumpers and Gay Hamsters The Break Down..also Goodfellas The Box shame they were DQ.... the other 2 picks they must of brought alot of friends...

Agreed Vandal, felt bad for those opening couple of films. Us Grand Chevaliers are stoked to pick up the audience award for heat 8, can't help but laugh at having a perfect playback until the closing line of the film (covered by some quick thinking by our lead shouting out the line for the audience). Just hope it was a glitch on the machine on the night, cause we had no playback issues with our USB on any other machine.

But that's spilt milk now, good luck and go hard to all the remaining films, look forward to seeing some of em. Chur

I have a feeling that a film that wasn't expected to win won heat nine and that's the "controversial" delay! was a big crowd after Ant's plea to get more people in, so i'm guessing a couple of teams may have done just that and screwed the voting in the organizers eyes? Only four people in my team showed up so I can't really complain, the more atmosphere the better!?

We were in heat 9 but got all disheartened after screwing up the output and handing in an unfinished copy, still wanted to go in the end but didn't push for it which is regretful but we only had 3 people in the team in the end so wouldn't have helped the crowd much haha.

Excited to hear what the controversy is, controversy is controversial.

Ok so the teams that usually do well every year won heat nine? Where's the controversy in that! Not sour grapes apart from the mini movie the other two deserve to be there but we were promised controversy!

The controversy thing was a joke, the ballots were left in the theatre.
If a film that "wasn't expected to win" had taken out the audience vote, I'm sure it would have been listed as audience favourite nonetheless. It's always been possible to stack the audience with supporters.

Glad to see Haynesfilm/Ow in the top three! They got my vote.

Haha this reeks of the bush election win in 2000 to me! Funny to watch all the regular filmies band together though... Just to clarify I have a friend on the inside and all is not as it seems with heat nine results...

Sad but true, not saying your in on it Peter but apparantly a team won that wasn't expected and they decided to just not count their votes, seems kinda shitty due to the fact that Ant encouraged teams to bring as many as poss due to low turnout.

truthserum - damn you man. you have exposed our conspiracy!

The reality though not so exciting. By 11.45 at night we just want to pack up and get the fuck out of there. And especially not count votes. So the last heat gets left there unless our lovely staff all sit down and do it.

But your version is much more exciting... we cook those votes.
